TMZ.com reports a New York judge presiding over Joe Budden’s hearing issued an arrest warrant for the New Jersey rapper after a missed trial date early Thursday. Budden was due in court after being accused of assaulting and robbing his ex-girlfriend last August in Washington Heights. It could be an issue of miscommunication, as Budden tweeted he was going to “embark a spiritual journey” Thursday before sending several more messages via Twitter.

After last summer’s accusations, Budden’s attorney, Nima Ameri told TMZ his client “looks forward to an opportunity to responsibly deal with and address the allegations so he may establish the actual facts.”

With the aforementioned opportunity having come and gone, a bench warrant has been issued for Budden.
