It must be beef season. While everyone has been clamoring for Meek Mill to rally back and finally drop his diss record against Drake, we have a new beef brewing in the world of rap. Today (July 30), Vic Mensa sent a barrage of shots over Travis $cott’s direction with his new freestyle, “Heir to the Throne.”

“Black out on one of these artists sneak dissing and spot you like you wearing the red shirt at target.

Couple rap ni**as you thought we was crew (Straight Up)

Real life ni**as is corny what can I do (Straight Up)

Rich boy rappers get the notion that they tough,

You a cheddar Bob you better shooting yourself” – Vic Mensa.

Vic flexes his lyrical muscle over Biggie’s “Who Shot Ya” in hopes of getting some target practice before he embarks on his “Traffic” Tour. Even though Mensa didn’t utter Travis’ name, it’s easy to distinguish who the Chicago rapper was referencing. Travis is notoriously known for his “Straight Up” ad-lib, and of course, Vic decided to pull a full-time jackmove on the “3500” rapper by mimicking his patented voice-overs. Straight up cold, Vic.  As for Travis, he’s putting the finishing touches on his debut album, Rodeo, which is slated to drop Sept. Will Travis pull a Drake and place the album on a brief hold to respond to Vic’s freestyle?
