Rapper Nate Dogg passed away in 2011, but fans can still treasure the man and his music in the upcoming episode of TV One’s Unsung.

Born Nathaniel Hale, Nate Dogg took his Long Beach, Calif. background and put it to good use when he dabbled in music. It didn’t hurt that his cousin, Snoop Dogg, was starting out in the music game either. Nate, Snoop, and Warren G formed the group 213 in 1990, and it was in the group that he perfected his lazy, laid back style that pulled their sound together.

Nate appeared on countless tracks and was nominated for four Grammy awards. He died in 2011 after complications from two strokes.

Catch a clip of Nate Dogg’s Unsung episode, and don’t miss the full episode tonight on  TV One at 8 p.m. EST.
