50 Cent is taking his talents to network television.

The Queens rapper-turned-mogul will be teaming up with talented television and film producer Will Packer (Ride Along, Think Like A Man, Straight Outta Compton, No Good Deed, etc.) to executive produce and appear in a new scripted Fox comedy series titled “My Friend 50.” According to Deadline, the comedic series will be centered around an “unstable” twenty-something woman who is confident that joining 50’s entourage is the answer to all of her life’s problems.

50 adds the series to his growing list of ventures in the film and television industries just as his most recent hit drama series Power gears up for a third season on the Starz network.  Packer brings years of success and expertise to the table with over 20 years of work as a Hollywood television and film producer under his belt.

No word on exactly when My Friend 50 will officially hit the TV circuit just yet, but it’ll be interesting to see if 50 changes his tune to one of support for his self-proclaimed primetime “rival” Empire given that this new show will now share the same network.

Whatever happens, we’re sure 50 will make it an interesting ride.
