4th Annual Life Changing Lives Gala Honoring Muhammad Ali

Legendary boxer Muhammad Ali remains in the hospital fighting a respiratory condition, his team has confirmed. According to Ali’s spokesperson Bob Gunnell, Ali was treated by his team of doctors for a respiratory issue but is now in better condition.

The statement said that “a brief hospital stay is expected” for the 74-year-old icon.

Ali suffers from Parkinson’s disease and has been hospitalized a few times in recent years, with a stay in 2015 due to a urinary tract infection, and in December 2014 for pneumonia.

The boxing and sports world tweeted out their well wishes to The People’s Champion.

Mr. T recently caught up with TMZ to tell a few inspiring tales of Ali in his heyday.

You’d see guys arguing on the corner, about to cut each other. He’d say, ‘Hey hey! The guys stopped fighting, and they say, ‘It’s the champ!’ He’d say ‘Break that up’, and Ali would stop stuff!” he told TMZ.

Mr. T also credited a lot of his business savvy from being around the heavyweight champ.

A lot of the stuff I do in terms of PR, I learned it from Muhammad Ali,” he added. “He told me you gotta be different but good.”

It is a relief to hear that Ali is on the road to recovery. Our prayers are with him and his family.
