There has been speculation for a while now, as to who would succeed Jimmy Fallon when he moves up to take over “The Tonight Show” for Jay Leno. The NBC powers that be, have bestowed the honor on to Seth Meyers, one of the head writers and the “Weekend Update” anchor at SNL.

According to E! News online Lorne Michaels, who is also a part of NBC Late Night, felt he would do a great job!

Check it out!

Anyone who watches “SNL” only for “Weekend Update” is going to be thrilled and sad at the same time! They’ll be happy that they get to see Seth 5 days a week now, but sad that the anchor desk may not be as great for a while on “SNL”, depending on who they pick to replace him. Seth has always managed to carry that part of “SNL” regardless of if the cast was particularly funny that season or not.

Best wishes to him on the new gig but we are left with one last question now. Who is going to take Seth’s place at the Weekend Update desk? Inquiring minds want to know!
