Okay, so this is definitely interesting. Kevin Clash, the former voice of Elmo who resigned his position on Sesame Street because of allegations that he sexually abused teen-aged boys, won three daytime Emmys this weekend in Los Angeles.

We don’t really know what to say about this one. It’s a paradox. On one hand he was the man who made Elmo great. Because of him and his vision, Elmo has infiltrated the world of preschoolers world wide on a grand scale. He taught them right from wrong, to work hard, to be kind and patient, how to count and many other valuable lessons. But on that other hand, the dark clouds that surround the allegations as to why he quit are horrific.

One way to look at it is to see that he was rewarded for a lot of hard work and dedication that served a wonderful purpose for children everywhere. But then if you look at it the other way, it seems as if he was rewarded for potentially atrocious behavior. So which side is the right side to view it on?

We guess that decision is best left up to the beholder. We can say Congratulations without condoning anything shady that is alleged to have happened with him. We do know one thing, those are the last Daytime Emmys he will ever get for playing Elmo. So anyone who is feeling angry can at least rest assured with the notion that it will never, ever happen again.
