When you hear that a southern record company known for its tales of street life signed a British pop-R&B singer, you tend to scratch your head looking for a reason that this came to pass. Admittedly, we had the same reaction when we heard British pop&B singer Jay Sean would be making his American debut on Lil Wayne‘s Cash Money Records. Upon meeting Jay Sean, we learned that the differences between him and his Cash Money counterparts weren’t enough to keep both parties from seeing the benefits of working together.

Hot on the trail promoting his new album “NEON,” which is out now,  Jay Sean stopped by the TUD offices to discuss his new album, the reaction he gets from black audiences when the are introduced to him for the first time, and why British artists speak with an accent, but don’t sing with one.
