i watched it that wasnt a tribute. if they wanted to do a real tribute they would of had them performing Michael songs. not they own. disrespectful people you cant honor someone performing you own songs filled wit foul language if that person has never cursed in any of their music. man if i was janet i would of told em bout they self real quick. big up to those who did perform michaels songs. they should of let MTV do the tribute they would of did a better job. i chuck a deuce on BET now on how shytty its gotten.

Oh, and they did a terrible job bleeping the invective language in that atrocious “performance” with Drake, Lil’Wayne and thangs. LOL That mess was horrible and just down right inappropriate. The mics should have been turned off.

And what is Lil’ Wayne going to tattoo next…the white part of his eyes. That is so tacky how he has just defiled his temple but then hearing the words that proceed out of his mouth, he has no respect for himself and is defiled.

He is in bondage to me. This friend of mine is interceding for him. She expressed that she just has been led to pray for him because so many kids “like” him and because of his influence on children.

I hope she knows she is dealing with a Moabite and Ammonite spirit.

I have to say that after hearing MJ music on Friday as I drove home, I realized just how low the bar has been lower (heck I am not sure if the bar is even there) in the music industry. 95% of what we are hearing on the radio is GARBAGE.

The saddest thing is this mess is also present in “gospel” music too. These artists are more about being “stars” than glorifying God.

And WHY is last night the FIRST time I have ever heard about Michael Jackson being in the Guinness Book for the most giving celebrity/Humanitarian?!! Why hasn’t the media talked about this. That was the highlight for me last night. He really used his celebrity to help many people.

Lyricistlillie07, I agree. First, I don’t have cable anymore. I have not had it in 3 years. However, I was at my sister’s and we looked at the BET awards. Some of those “performances” should have been SCRAPPED. I would have rather seen Chris Brown than that mess of a “performance” by Lil’Wayne, Drake and Birdman. It was as though they literally sucked the energy out of the room.

However, I have to say that Mary Mary didn’t deserve anyone to stand for them. It was an awards show for secular music and they fit right in there with them. That song is NOT about God, the creator. Pay attention to the lyrics, they are celebrating materialism. I know that chorus is saying “It is the god in me.” Listen to the words intently. The bible warns about mixing what is Holy with that which is profane. It is not supposed to be done.

What is sad is that they (secular artists and people in attendance) seemed to “know” it but “christians” have such limited discernment that they don’t even see it. That was NOT the atmosphere to glory God, The Creator. It was a tribute to Michael Jackson which was a nice gesture.

I saw her last night and her pain was soooo thick. She maintained as best she could. I couldn’t help but turn around and leave the room when she left the stage. It was very very touching and sad. She has always been my favorite. We were born two days apart. She is really a good girl and a great performer. Hang in there Janet.
We love you MJ. and will truly miss you.

I agree whole-heartedly wit Diamond1Mami…I beleive he was a blessed being and everyone had the pleasure of witnessing his greatness! And like every saint, things tried to get him dwn but he endured and still wanted to GIVE his fans all of him. Some of us took Michael for granted thats why he has left this earth soo soon. I will miss him but i am glad he doesnt have to be in pain anymore. I still feel like he’s gonna announce he’s joking and he’s gonna moonwalk across my tv screen some time soon! Janet’s speech touched my heart. I had to cry over that one. It was THE best part of the BET awards…since the rest of it sucked! Janet was a nice contrast to Michael’s father…who felt absolutely NOTHING towards the death of his son.
