Rapper Gucci Mane is currently contemplating new face tattoos in a Georgia jail after a September arrest for gun and weed possession. While “Free Gucci” t-shirts have been in vogue since his first jail bid in 2005 for assault, one South Carolina prisoner is taking that battle cry to heart.

According to TMZ, 51-year-old Jerry Lewis Dedrick, a prisoner in South Carolina, has taken it upon himself to fight for Gucci’s freedom and insists that he can get the Brick Squad rapper’s gun charges dropped. He has filed a motion and wants the court to forward his legal work to Gucci’s lawyer hoping it will get Gucci Mane out of jail.

Gucci Mane, real name Radric Davis, is facing 20 years for the gun charge because he was already a felon at the time of his arrest. Gucci tweeted an apology to this fans at the time trying to explain away erratic behavior that included a stream of disrespectful tweets.

“I just wanna man up right now & take this time to apologize to my family, friends, the industry & most of all my fans. I’m SORRY” he tweeted in September about his legal troubles and addiction. “I’m addicted to lean & that sh– ain’t no joke. I can barely remember all the things I’ve done & said. However there’s no excuse.”

There is no word if Gucci’s legal team has responded to Dedrick’s legal filings.
