Rapper and producer Lil Jon sat down with Arsenio Hall Wednesday night and talked up his early days in Atlanta and also paid tribute to So So Def and Jermaine Dupri, who joined the interview.

“JD, he gave me my first music industry job, he believed in me,” Lil Jon told Arsenio. “I was just a DJ in the night clubs. We used to see each other out all the time and one day he said ‘I see you everywhere and you out. I’m starting this record company, So So Def and I want you to be an A&R’…I worked with him for seven years and I gained so much knowledge. I remember going to his house and he played me Xscape’s first single and I thought it was TLC.

Lil Jon later took the stage and brought it with a massive performance of “Get Low” and “Turn Down For What.” Check out the clip below!
