Keeping it real can go wrong…even if you try to do it intelligently! Just ask Paris Gray. According to WSB TV 2 , Gray is a student at Mundy’s Mill High School in Clayton County, Ga who got her feelings extra hurt after she attempted to be funny in her yearbook quote and it went very wrong..very quickly!

Said Gray,

“When the going gets tough, just remember to Barium Carbon Potassium Thorium Astatine Arsenic Sulfur Uranium Phosphorus.”

When you look all of those names up on the periodic table it spells out,

“Back that a– up.”

Once it was discovered what the quote meant Paris was given in-school suspension and an assistant principal told her she was no longer going to be invited to give her speech at the upcoming graduation ceremony,

Said Gray,

“I think their reaction was beyond what it should have been because nobody understood it.”

Take a look at the story in the video below!

Paris and her family met with the school’s principal and the area superintendent on Tuesday. The school district apologized for the miscommunication and said they would not deny her giving a speech at graduation. The superintendent challenged her to,

“Give the best speech ever.”
