It looks like singer-actress Zendaya Coleman will be playing the role of late singer Aaliyah in upcoming Lifetime biopic.
The official announcement will come out later this week, but in an exclusive to Necole Bitchie, this is official as it gets. Filming starts in a few weeks, and the movie is set to premiere in September.
Coleman, 17, was first seen on Disney’s “Shake It Up” and as a backup dancer for singer, Selena Gomez.
We wonder if this will spark any controversy considering Coleman looks nothing like Aaliyah. We saw how much backlash Zoe Saldana got for not looking like Nina Simone. Either way, we hope she doe a great job and does Baby Girl some justice.
