If there’s one thing we know about Nas, it’s that he’s a man of many layers. Even his character in ‘Belly‘ wanted to relocate to Africa as a means to escape the dangers of the hood, as opposed to simply moving to another state. So when PBS decided to give Esco a chance to trace his family’s history on their ‘Finding Your Roots‘ series, the Queensbridge MC jumped at the opportunity.


In this particular episode, God’s Son goes back five generations to 1859 where his third great grandmother Pocahontas Little is sold for $830. Naturally this enlightening experience sparks the lyricists interest in possibly purchasing the land of his ancestry.
