After decades of comic strips, greetings cards and more animated holiday specials than we can count, The Peanuts gang is making the jump to the big screen.  “The Peanuts Movie” is set for release on November 6, 2015, and the first official trailer was leaked by 20th Century Fox this morning.

Fox blamed the trademark beagle for the leaking of the trailer via Twitter:

The trailer kicks off with Woodstock’s crew setting up Snoopy’s doghouse with Christmas decorations, with the flock of birds openly mocking Snoopy and his imaginary World War I Flying Ace persona. Although CGI-animated, the characters still maintain the jerky movements associated with hand-drawn animation of the original cartoons, which makes for an eye-catching effect.

Based on the esteemed comic strip created by Charles M. Schultz, “The Peanuts Movie” will be directed by Steve Martino (“Horton Hears A Who“) and written/produced by Schultz’s son and grandson, Craig and Bryan Schultz, respectively, and “Bridesmaids” director Paul Feig.
