VH1 reality star Mendeecees Harris has been sentenced to 97 months in prison after being found guilty of a federal drug trafficking crime.
Mendeecees pleaded guilty back in April, and his plea deal called for a sentence of eight to ten years and a $15,000 to $5 million fine. He was released on $600,000 bond and will now be heading back to prison to serve his full sentence.
The deal required him to turn over all the money he made from Love & Hip-Hop: New York and public appearances to the federal government, reports the Democrat And Chronicle. Mendeecees’ charges stem from his supposed involvement in a multimillion cocaine and heroin ring in upstate New York.
Earlier this year, Mendeecees married his longtime girlfriend Yandy Smith, with whom he has a child. Yandy took to Instagram to thanks fans for their support.
The new season premiere of L&HH:NY airs Monday, December 14 at 8/9c on VH1.
