August Alsina visited Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where Alton Sterling was shot and killed by police.

The New Orleans native met with Sterling’s aunt and the store owner who witnessed the murder. In a picture posted to Instagram, you can see Alsina in an emotional embrace with Sterling’s aunt.

A few days ago, Alsina also posted a series of videos on Instagram, highlighting the recent string of police brutalities caught on tape.

When do we stand up for ourselves and show them what our life means to us? Do we do what they’re doing to us? Do we kill them? I don’t know. You tell me. I’m just sending love to every other person around the world that’s confused as to why our lives don’t matter,” Alsina says in the video.
