I think Kanye is an artist in his own seperate way. I love him because he does not fit into one category as a “rapper”. He is a poet and shows his emotions through his music, whether its a club banger hit or a song like Love Lockdown. He is going through alot and this is his way to vent, but its great music and he is a very talented man, but very misunderstood. Luv u Kanye

Personally I am highly disappointed in this CD. Not to say it is bad because it’s actually not bad. It’s creative. But it’s the simple fact that he damn near changed genres. This is not HIP HOP! That is like Game’s next album being a country album. That would throw alot of shit off. Kanye needs to stick to Hip Hop because that shit is annoying. He will sale based on who he is and his name, not based on the quality of this CD.

I’ve heard his CD and honestly I think West could’ve came harder and switched up his style a lil more.. He sings on every track there is using that “T-Pain” effect. But it’s a good CD.. i don’t know if i would say he is a rapper or singer.. You Be The Judge

Regardless of the negative writing the journalist has on here, this album is kanye’s best one yet. Its new and fresh almost like a NEO-hiphop genre he’s created. This cd is a work of art.

I’ve got love for Ye as an artist the brotha is dope. Okay the album’s name IS 808′s & Heartbreak for 2 reasons…the ROLAND TR-808 Drum Machine used exclusively for the production of the album and did studio time in Hawaii..which has a (808) Area Code. Albeit the TR-808 is straight 80′s ie: Beastie Boys “Paul Revere”, Phil Collin’s “In The Air Tonight” & Marvin Gaye’s “sexual Healing” all used that NOW legendary Rhythm Composer! This album is EXPERIMENTAL…I’ll buy it but I’m NOT very sure how the album will appeal to the masses??!

I like the title “8o8s & Heartbreak” better…There was more complexity, ambiguity to the title then, typo or not…

As for the review: it has heightened my curiosity about the disk…If the content is as dope as you claim (and, trust, I’m already on a mission to listen to those leaked tracks you mentioned), the LP sounds cop-a-ble. Yes.

Always loved Kanye, but proclaiming this record to be the Taj Mahal of it all…? We’ll see. Creativity as the byproduct of heartache doesn’t always equal classic album but he’ll definately be in my peripherals this year and next…

I’m already feeling “Heartless”…The woman scorned sounds like a chick I know…personally….

Already a good look….;)

Hardbody, I never questioned if he was grieving. As I wrote “(as he insisted in interviews, though I hear no evidence of such) I didn’t hear anything in the songs that sounded like it was about his mother. Maybe in the cuts we haven’t heard, but not in these 8.
