In this A-Team meets Smoking Aces comic book adaptation a merry band of military rejects take turns getting their butts kicked by Zoe Saldana.

While I can’t totally co-sign this as a must-see this weekend, it will make a great rental once it hits DVD and on-demand. However, if you just simply have to get out of the house here are five decent reasons to check out The Losers.

Zoe Saldana

For most guys she is the main reason to see this flick (and you ladies are going to see Idris I’m sure.) From the time her character Aisha saddles up to a bar in Bolivia wearing skin-tight jeans and asks Clay “How’s your steak?” you know fun times are a comin’. Can you say lapdance?

Noise and Toys

With enough blood and bullets to go around The Losers is filled with action movie cliches like death by plane engine. But in one inspired moment they shoot a GPS out of a homemade rocket launcher. Anyone who’s been on a road trip with Hertz “Neverlost” has wanted to do that at some point.

Elevator Karaoke

In one of the movies funniest moments Jensen (played by Fantastic Four’s Chris Evans) pretends to be a bike messenger and makes his way through the lobby with an iPod plugged in his ears singing the words to Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” at the top of his lungs.

Rain Of The Tech

While strolling on the beach the bad guy “Max” turns to the young lady holding his umbrella and shoots her in the head for letting the wind blow it away from her. P Diddy was NEVER this gangster with Fonzworth Bentley.

Black Love

In a rarity for a flick of this nature (or any movie not directed by Tyler Perry these days) we get to see a married Black man, Linwood ‘Pooch’ Porteous (played by Columbus Short) genuinely love and miss his wife who is pregnant with their first child.

If these aren’t enough reasons to check out “The Losers” then take my advice and  cop the DVD. You can store it right before Shoot ‘Em Up and Tropic Thunder.
