I wish more blacks would listen to this type of music. These are the real roots and wisdom of black Americans. Blacks are too busy giving credit to Sugar Hill Gang, Tupac and blaxploitation soundtracks while ignoring the "real: old school. I play drums in a few blues bands and it's disheartening how few black people come out to support real blues. The shows are more often than not, 90-95% white patronage. If it wasn't for them, the blues artists would just die off. Black people have stop thinking of the blues as "slave" music. All black music and all American pop music has roots in spirituals and blues.
