Boxer Floyd Mayweather was arrested on Friday over charges that he physically abused her and stole her cellphone during an argument.

Mayweather was in jail only for a brief period before he was released on $3,000 bail. He now faces up to five years in prison if convicted of grand larceny, reports the Associated Press. Grand larceny is the result of items stolen that are valued at $250 or more.

Mayweather is expected to appear in court on Nov. 9 in Law Vegas.

Mayweather, through his lawyer, has denied any wrongdoing.

Las Vegas Metro Police were called to the home around 5:00AM this morning after a 911 call was placed by Josie Harris, the mother of the boxing champion’s children.

Harris has requested an order of protection against Mayweather, which was granted by a judge.

A 2007 confrontation with a neighbor has resulted in an indictment for rap diva Foxy Brown.

Yesterday (August 13th), the entertainer (born Inga Marchand) was charged with criminal contempt in the second degree.

Brown’s latest legal development stems from a violation of a court order of protection by Arlene Raymond.

Raymond filed the order following a heated exchange with Brown on July 30, 2007.

During the encounter, the rapper reportedly hit Raymond with her Blackberry after Raymond complained about Brown playing her car stereo too loud outside their building in Brooklyn.

Juvenile was sentenced to six months of probation after he pleaded guilty to possessing marijuana last week.

According to police, Juvenile was arrested in February of 2010, after neighbors called the police to complain about the smell of smoke emanating from the house in Arabi.

Juvenile, born Terius Gray, was at the residence utilizing a home recording studio when police knocked on the door to investigate the neighbors’ claim.

A search of the house turned up a small amount of marijuana in the kitchen, which Juvenile admitted was his.

DMX was released from a Los Angeles jail on August 12th, after serving a short prison term for a probation violation.
The rapper, born Earl Simmons, was released from the Los Angeles County Jail, after serving 18 days of a 90 day term for a reckless driving charge from 2002.

DMX turned himself over to authorities on July 26th, just weeks after he was released from an Arizona prison for violating his probation when he tested positive for cocaine.

An expected reunion with former NWA rappers Ice Cube and Dr. Dre has fallen through.
Ice Cube is wrapping up work on I Am The West, his upcoming album, but he hasn’t been able to get in contact with Dr. Dre.

For that, he’s said he’ll finish it without his former bandmate.

“Many asked about Dr. Dre working on my album. Negative, Dre has been M.I.A. for a few months now. I asked Snoop has he heard from him and he said, no. I can’t wait,” Ice Cube said  on his blog.  “I gotta turn my s**t in by Aug. 20th to make street date…Sept 28th. I’ll keep you posted if anythang new develops.”

In an exclusive interview with AllHipHop.com, Wyclef’s Presidential rival Michel Martelly also questioned the rapper’s ability to help Haiti recover from a devastating earthquake in January, which killed 250,000 people and displaced another 1.5 million.

Former Fugee group member Pras Michel is backing Martelly in his run against Wyclef Jean for President of Haiti.

Martelly, who is also an award-winning Haitian musician, first became familiar with The Fugees after the release of their hit 1996 album The Score.

According to Martelly, he has been a very close friendship with Wyclef and the rapper’s family for years and his son even attended the Fugees reunion concert in 2006 in California.

However, Martelly questioned Wyclef’s ability to really lead the country.

“I know that Clef is well intentioned. But, I believe that not having been raised here, not being familiar with any neighborhood – because I don’t think Clef can drive anywhere here on his own – he can’t speak the languages, I agree that those are handicaps, Martelly told AllHipHop.com in an exclusive interview. “I’m not saying that he couldn’t surprise the world and be a good president. I cannot say that; I would be speculating. I’d be speculating if I said he couldn’t deliver. But there are things about him that raise concerns for us here in Haiti. Derek Q. Johnson is known for his work in revitalizing the Apollo Theater in Harlem.

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Twelve A’Klok the cousin of late rapper Soulja Slim was found shot to death on a street in New Orleans on Monday (August 2nd).

Twelve A’Klok, born Argell White, was a founding member of the record label Cut Throat Committee group/record label, along with his relative Soulja Slim and rappers Re-Nitty, Doubla Crossa and Logga Black.

According to the New Orleans’ Times-Picayune, a newspaper deliverer found Twelve A’Klok laying on the ground bleeding, with multiple gunshot wounds to his back on Monday morning just after 5:00 AM.

Hip-Hop star Wyclef Jean will announce his bid for the President of Haiti, a source has confirmed with AllHipHop.com exclusively.
Sources close to Wyclef confirmed with AllHipHop.com that the rapper will announce his bid for the country’s highest office next Thursday, on August 5th.

The 37-year-old was born in Haiti, but immigrated to the United States at the age of 9-years-old, when he landed in Brooklyn, before settling in South Orange, New Jersey.

The rapper sprung into action on January 12th, when his native land was leveled by a 7.0 earthquake that left 300,000 people dead over a million others displaced.

The rapper will make his official announcement just two days prior to the country’s August 7th deadline to submit his plan for running for President.

Analysts are predicting that Wyclef Jean will easily win the race with his financial connections, influence among the Haitian youth and his political influence around the world.

Jean, who maintained his status as a citizen of Haiti, was in the country yesterday, where he was preparing for his upcoming campaign.

Elections are slated for November 28th.

DMX appeared in a Los Angeles court, where he was sentenced to the three months, for violating the terms of his 2002 probation for a reckless driving charge.

“Mr. Simmons is here today to fully cooperate with respect to any matters of the Court’s concern,” DMX’s lawyer Aja M. Southern told AllHipHop.com. “This is one of many steps towards rebuilding his image and rapport with the community and his loyal fans.”

The jail sentence comes on the heels of DMX’s release from prison earlier this month, after he served four months in an Arizona jail.

In that incident, the rapper violated his probation when he tested positive for cocaine and was found guilty of other infractions, which violated his probation in another case.

Producer/mogul Dr. Dre is being sued for millions of dollars for breach of contract, for allegedly failing to pay the bill for recording services.
Paramount Recording Studios is suing Dr. Dre, born Andre Young, for $1,220,500, for breach of contract, according to the lawsuit, which was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on July 23rd.

Dr. Dre has recorded at Paramount for at least ten years, allowing him to receive a cheaper rate for recording at the studio.

According to the lawsuit, Dr. Dre and his record label Aftermath Entertainment allegedly rented the recording studio from April 2009 until June of 2010.

Paramount claims that they were never paid for the dates in question

Dr. Dre agreed to settle the bill with Paramount Recording Studios by July 13th, but failed to do so, resulting in the lawsuit.

Houston, Texas rap star Devin the Dude and Jacksonville, Florida, comedian Lil Duval will play the lead characters in a new film titled Hillbilly Highway.
The movie, which is being produced by Eddie Griffin, is currently wrapping up filming in Atlanta, according to director, Damon “Coke” Daniels.

Hillbilly Highway follows the antics of two marijuana-loving brothers, Earl and Ray Ray.

The pair embark on a journey in search of a mythical highway in Kentucky, which they believe leads to “marijuana nirvana.”

Nashville, Tennessee rapper Young Buck recently took aim at 50 Cent, revealing the Queens-rapper is still feuding with him and attempting to destroy his career.

Young Buck was once a member of 50 Cent’s G-Unit collective.

According to Young Buck, 50 Cent is blackballing him from the rap game and preventing him from working with other artists, due to his contractual obligation to G-Unit.

“His reaction, being so harsh, is to basically stall me out to a position where I lose everything, to where my numbers drop,” Young Buck told the Nashville Scene in a new interview. “Because if you don’t have a new product out, then you can’t go get the big dollar for your shows. [He wants] to pretty much destroy my life from a silent-sided way of doing things. That’s his angle, and my contracts allow him to be able to do that.”

Young Buck stated that he is still very much in demand as an artist and has had the opportunity to work with a variety of artists, including longtime affiliate Lil Wayne.

But 50 Cent is allegedly preventing Young Buck from making guest appearances, which would raise his profile in addition to putting money in his pocket.

“The problem is, I go to be a feature on their hit record, and then they have to go to 50 Cent to clear me on the record, and he says, ‘No.’ And they’re looking like, ‘Well, damn’ — cause if it wasn’t for that I would probably be on every record that’s out right now, cause everybody and their mama reaches out and gives me support,” a frustrated Young Buck said.

A lawyer for Goodie Mob member Khujo Goodie explained his client’s recent arrest and why the rapper was able to beat a two-year sentence in court. Khujo’s lawyer Daniel Kane told Atlanta’s Creative Loafing that Khujo, born Willie Knighton Jr., was convicted on three felony charges in two separate incidents: once for possession of a firearm and another one for having marijuana in his possession.

Prosecutors sentenced Khujo Goodie under the assumption that he was already a convicted felon, due to a previous gun charge in 1990.

According to Kane, the charge in 1990 was legally void and should have been removed from Khujo Goodie’s record under the First Offender Act, thus allowing the rapper to be released from prison.

“The mistake was that they thought he was a convicted felon because they thought he was convicted in 1990,” Kane told Creative Loafing. “So I went back into the archives and got the 1990 case, researched it, pulled the records and presented them to the district attorney and the judge in Henry County and said he could never be a felon in possession of a firearm — there were three counts — because he was never a convicted felon. It was a first offender case, and the court agreed.”

Black Magic was to be the fifth album by 50 Cent, but the rapper may not release the looming opus.
“I’ve written an album that’s called Black Magic, but I am not sure it will be my next album,” 50 Cent explained to Rolling Stone Brasil. “Since I’ve made it back to America after recording in the UK and different territories since I was on the road, I started writing different material that don’t quite fit that concept.”

50 Cent is presently on global tour and admitted that the influences were coming through in his music.

“Black Magic had a different style to it, a different vibe. I was playing with different song structures, music from different genres like rock music. The way rock music allows the energy to decrease and then comeback to high energy.. I was getting music that had that kind of vibe to it. I did some things that were a little dance inspired, the tempo was higher. Just playing with a lot of things.”

However, upon his return, he was inundated by American producers with a more conventional style.

“Since, I got back, I’ve been writing things that don’t fit that [concept].”

Geto Boys rapper Bushwick Bill was in Atlanta Immigration Court yesterday (July 16th) where he is facing deportation to his native homeland of Jamaica.
Rumors about Bushwick Bill’s status as a citizen in the United States was questioned shortly after the VH1 2010 Hip Hop Honors in June, after the pint-sized rapper missed a dedication to Rap-A-Lot Records’ founder, James Prince.

As of press time, it is believed that Bushwick Bill was arrested and charged with a crime presumably “soliciting.”

Atlanta’s Creative Loafing reports that the nature of the charges that prompted the deportation proceedings is not yet known.

Rock from the acclaimed group Heltah Skeltah has been found not guilty in an attempted murder case stemming from a shooting incident that left a pimp paralyzed.
Dru Ha, the CEO of Duck Down Records, made the announcement.

“Exhale for Rock & congratulations to his attorney Kenneth Montgomery for the NOT GUILTY VERDICT! Incredible job,” Dru Ha said via Twitter.

Rock was accused of being a moonlighting as a pimp at night and shooting a rival in January of 2008. He was eventually released on $125,000 bail and proclaimed his innocent in the alleged shooting, assault and the assertion that he is a pimp.

This morning (July 12th), Akron, Ohio police detectives boarded the rapper’s tour bus, which was parked outside of the Hilton Garden Inn.

Police are investigating the woman’s complaint, but no charges have been filed against Waka Flocka or anyone in his entourage as of press time.

Legendary DJ Scratch has revealed to AllHipHop.com that he will change his well known moniker to DJ Jam Master Scratch, with the support of founding Run-DMC member, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels.

As DJ Scratch, the veteran turntablist/producer has worked with EPMD, DMX, Jay-Z, Busta Rhymes and 50 Cent.

In 1988 Run-DMC helped Scratch gain entry into the music business as the DJ for their “Run’s House World Tour.”

In 1988 on the tour, Scratch befriended Jam Master Jay, who recommended him to rap group EPMD. Scratch has been with EPMD ever since, in addition to becoming a world renowned battle DJ and producer.

(AllHipHop News) One man was shot and injured by police officers last night (July 4th) during a “Mac Dre Day” celebration in Vallejo, California, that drew over 1,500 people.

Thousands of people were gathered at the North Vallejo Park last night around 10:30 PM, to celebrate the life of the rapper, who was born on July 5th, 1970 and was gunned down on November 1, 2004, in Kansas City.

According to reports, police were responding to reports of gunfire in the park when they spotted a man with a gun fleeing the scene. Two officers gave chase and in the ensuing chaos, shot the armed man multiple times.

At press time, it was not known if the victim fired at police first. According to sources, the man who was is in stable condition at a local hospital.

Mac Dre, born Andre Hicks, would have turned 40-years-old tomorrow.
