I must say I am a 28 year old black man who is a huge fan of Howard Stern. That kike son of a b***h tells it like it is. Whether he is talking about Pamela Anderson or Jay Leno, he always hits the nail on the head. I’m going to defend him in his addressing the obesity issue. Mind you, I love thick women. However, there is a thin line between a let’s say, Buffie The Body and a Gabourey Sidibe. Buffie may be what Cosmopolitan considers “fat” but f**k them! Buffie looks like she can bench press twice her weight and her tight figure exhumes the fact that she exercises regularly. Gabourey looks like the type that dreads the gym or the trail in the park. I used to be a personal trainer’s assistant and I’ve seen many women get it in physically to save their lives. To condone morbid obesity is the same as condoning murder. It’s not always about the size, it’s the lifestyle. Ms. Sidibe unfortunately shows that her lifestyle is unhealthy. We as Americans can’t keep acting like obesity is no big deal because it really is. I don’t know Ms. Sidibe but I wouldn’t marry a woman her size. However, I think she is very beautiful. With that being said, I feel that if she truly wants to expand her career’s movie roles and wants to prolong her life, she needs to lose weight. Howard Stern is only echoing what millions of Americans black and white are thinking.

Hey Doc-V, I agree with what Howard said about obesity and the issue of diseases/sicknesses. What many of us don’t agree with is the way he said it, the name calling, and just plain disrespect he showed. He didn’t have to call her a planet and there was no point in half the s**t he said. Now for those people who think Howard is the worse person in the world, he does go after everyone in the same fashion and he never holds up.. that I respect him for. At the same time most people just can’t stand his insulting comments.

You are not God, you don’t know anyone’s destiny or future, you have no right to say what will happen to someone because you simply don’t know. It would be wrong for me to say to you or anyone will die because of whatever reason. Why did he have to make a point of calling her a fat “black” chick??? Itz funny ta me how defenders on this very touchy subject all have the same or very similar arguements that only change slightly in variation. It’s usually “If she happy, just let her be!”. Those defedning Gabourey need to understand something. Just because you say your happy being big, fat, obese, whatever the case is, DOES NOT mean your heart will automatically cease to feel the strain the extra weight is putting on it. You act like just because you call somebody ignorant and compare the “problems” of obesity to a major issue such as race, it means your body will be 100% healthy despite the size. Here’s the truth for those who obviously don’t want, or most likely don’t understand the actual situation.

Take an avid weight-lifter. A gym rat. The guy who walks in hulking over everyone else. In a sense they are just as big as the obese in america but here’s the difference. Forgetting the sheer size of their muscles, the strength of their muscles is much higher than that of an obese person. What does this mean?? Their body and heart are able to handle more strain as they bulk more because they are strengthening the muscles in their body to handle this type of strain and become stronger. Their joints are stronger and they don’t have sheer weight and size crushing smaller joints and parts of the body because they are just “happy” being big and obese.

An obese person is someone who has acquired a dramatic imbalance of body fat to muscle. Since these same muscles haven’t been strengthened whatsoever and the joints are still just as weak as they were after maturing, the added weight begins to put a lot of strain on the heart and the weakening joints. You can argue that your “happy” all damn day but the fact of the matter is your heart and body don’t give two fuks. This is why bigger people develop certain pain problems and brush them off as due to labor or some form of accident they’ve had recently. Even if that was the case that only makes it worse because an injured part of the body has to fight the injury as well as the strain of the sheer weight on the body.

Howard stern said it in a VERY harsh way and probably could’ve re-phrased it better. But he told the fukin truth. EVEN IF YOU DON’T FEEL THE EFFECTS OF THE STRAIN, I PROMISE YOU IT IS HAPPENING SLOWLY AND YOU ARE GEARING TOWARDS A TERRIBLE FUTURE. I’m not trying to get at anybody nor am I trying to force the big community to lose weight. Hell, even my girlfriend is big but she wants to exercise with me because she is already feeling those joint pains and the effects of strain. I’ll say it again. EVEN IF YOU DON’T FEEL THE EFFECTS OF THE STRAIN OF YOUR WEIGHT, IT IS IN FACT AFFECTING YOU.

Anyone that says its okay to be fat, leave her alone, etc, etc, obviously has never been that way; speaking from experience carrying more weight than your body can handle is a death sentence, it weighs on you emotionally, physically, and mentally; loving yourself is one thing but being content and using that to make a statement is just plain stupid!!!! I was 50 lbs overweight and i always portrayed myself as big and sexy, but behind close doors i hated the way i looked, the way i felt and one day i just woke up and said “no more”! It wasnt easy but it was so worth it and plus I did for me, not for what others wanted me to be……..thank you!
