I am a teacher myself. I am pretty much from the streets, rap on the side, do some things that I shouldn’t do. But at the end of the day, I realize that I have a gift of teaching. It’s not about the image of the person–at least it shouldn’t be. Two things I concerned myself with as a student and as a teacher: 1) Do the teacher know the material and can the students pick up on the material 2) Is the teacher in a position to better the well being of the students and can that student learn something from that teacher? We feel that certain people have to take certain images, and we lose site of the purpose at mind–is the teacher willing to teach so that the student can learn? I am a Dipset fan–rap music fan for that matter–and I strongly encourage Jim Jones and other talented artists to give back to the community in any form you can.

As long as he has something to teach. In my world talent has a very narrow definition and image says a lot. If you want to be taken seriously, you have to put yourself out there as a serious person who is about business. Teachers have to put themselves on their students level, but not to the point that their behavior can be viewed as inappropriate or juvenile. I don’t care what gifts a person is deemed to possess or wants to offer. If I don’t feel that his/her presence is conducive to my children’s social and moral growth…that would be one class they would not be attending regardless.

I would have selected a more successful and well rounded artist. There will be some negative events presented when all is said and done with this event. Just watch :(

Ummmm….My Question Is, Does He Have A College Degree In Music Education? If Not, He Shouldn’t Be Teaching Music…Simple As That! It’s A LOT You Should Know Before Taking On The Role As A Teacher ~ I Know Because I Am A “Music Education” Major & The Courses Are Rigorous.

Sure He’s Gained Some Popularity As A Rapper In The Music Industry, But That Alone Doesn’t Give Him The Proper Credentials To Teach “CHILDREN” In School! True Having A Celebrity Teach Will Get Children To Come To Class…But What Will They Learn While There? Are They Learning How To Be Part Of “Dip-Set” Or A Rapper In General? Or Will They Learn About The Circle Of Fifths, Chord Progression, And Harmony? They Should Be Learning The Latter, But If He Doesn’t Have A Degree…Chances Are They WON’T Be Learning This.
