Hello all hope all is good with u? I was at this concert and the fault was not on DMX is was the promoter. From my understanding, the promoter (SOULCLAY ENT.) did not have the rest of the money to pay him, so therefore stalled DMX by telling his manager that he was to perform @11 pm. So when he came to the venue security was instructed by the promoter not to let him in because he said DMX was to be there @930. He was more than willing to get on stage to let everyone know what was going on, but the sound system was already cut since they was inform to pack up. It was crazy…but for any promoters out there..this is an example of bad business. If ur wanting to promote anything or anybody..please have ur s**t together..because s**t like this is crazy!!! 1 :)

I liked the way he tried to calm the crowd down to diffuse the situation telling them “They want to lock us up, don’t give it to em” Looks like he’s finally showing some maturity. About time.

The fact is the reason why he was told not to go on stage was because he was late. Not just 5 mins, but and an hour and 30 mins late. If he would have shown up to his own concert on time, I dont believe that issue would’ve occured. He was just released from prison, the last thing anyone in his situation should do is anger the ‘po-po’. However, truth be told, the only reason why he wasn’t beaten to a pulp, and the fans pepper-sprayed and thrown in jail was because of the camerman’s decision to keep rolling.

Wow he was late only an hour and 30 min this time, thats a step up from his norm, Im from Anchorage, Alaska and when he did a show for us the fool showed up MONTHS late, all the tickets were sold and he was a no show, he had to come back and do the show or get sued! Dmx needs to know the world doesnt revolve around him. Its not only him who is working on the stage, its the lightsmen, the sound ppl, the whole crew that works behind the stage that also put the show together. He expect them to work late and do extra hours? Respect others if u want to be respected, show up on time n leave on time. No hate here just keepin it real.

I think that the situation was handled in the wrong way. Yes, he was late, but he was also a scheduled performer. Security should have notified the head person in charge about him showing up late, and that person should have went and had a civil conversation with him, rather than security making threats and throwing around their “authority”. There needs to be more training for these type of situations. I guess next time DMX should send his rep in ahead of time to make sure everything is in order when they arrive. But that is a lesson that people will have to learn, he is not the first and he will not be the last to experience a situation like this.

The security officers should have been charged with assault and the company they work for sued. No justification for putting your hands on anyone. If you check out the way it went down, it’s as if they knew he was coming and already had a plan. A bad one. Besides, it’s just a show. what’s the big deal…

Oh my goodness people…the issue was not him being late, it is because the organization’s promoters did not have enough money to pay him the other half of the money for the show so in essence the promoters did not fullfil their half of the contract. Get the facts straight!! The whole situation was handled very immaturely and the security guards should have spoken with DMX’ managers in a civil manner as opposed to making unnecessary threats to trigger a riot. Security guards need to be better trained and chill out with thinking they have all of the authority in the world. They are not cops and do not work for the law.

The situation was blown way out. I say this because the security approuch the situation all wrong. So what if he was late most acts are . The thing that stands out to me about this is how DMX could have walked away payed for doing nothing .For those who go to shows many artist come to show looking for reasons not to get on stage e.g lil wayne if you have evey bought a ticket to his shows 90% of the time he is a noshow due to something small, but he wanted to do it for the fans . Here is the thing. As a fellow performer, I feel I have the right to speak on this. Showing up late to your own show is dumb as Sh$!. First off it shows how unreliable you are in the eyes of venue management. Secondly, chances are if your show is on a weekday, people that are coming to see you perform mostly likely have a job to go to in the morning. That’s just some inconsiderate stuff that could end up alienating your fanbase. Especially if you suck at stage performances. When I’m asked to perform at a certain day and certain time and people pay money to see me, you best believe the show is starting within a reasonable amount of time barring any sound problems not an hour and a half late with not apology or explanation.
