UPDATE: Katt Williams Didn’t Have A Gun

Katt Williams did not have a shotgun on his person when police arrived at a Georgia Walmart earlier today, this according to the Newnan Police Department.

Newnan Deputy Police Chief Rodney Riggs tells TMZ Katt was handcuffed, put in the back of a police car and questioned about an alleged altercation in the Walmart parking lot — but Riggs says Williams was released at the scene and never officially booked.

Police received a 911 call from a man who claims Katt or somebody in his crew had pulled out a shotgun during the incident — but cops say they found no evidence of a firearm anywhere near the scene.

Riggs did confirm that two men involved in the incident were booked for disorderly conduct.

I really hope our boy Katt Williams isn’t becoming the DMX of comedy.  Our affiliate Emporer Searcy at  Hot 107.9 in ATL spoke to some folks on the air who say they were at Walmart in Atlanta when Katt Williams was arrested. NOTHING HAS BEEN CONFIRMED, but this is what they said:

    ok ppl did yall not read the article like i did they confirmed there were no evidence of a firearm anywhere so does that make him guilty no it doesn’t i mean u guys claim to like him as i do but you are quick to judge him he was questioned and released meaning no charges were filed against him what his entourage got arrested for has nothing to do with him sounds like they got themselves put in jail katt on the other hand is a free man luv you katt!!!!

    Thanks scrap and to the other person of course rich people shop at walmart and grocery stores like food lion and publix they need to leave Kat alone and who cares about the police they better not ever try to beat Kat I can’t stand cops as it is they get no respect from me.
