On Friday November 27th 200 West Coast Hip-hop artists, fans, producers, listeners protested outside of LA’s popular radio station “POWER 106″ for their lack of support for West Coast hip hop.

    All I can say is, WOW…hip hop is corporate on these radio stations. Whatever the majority wants to hear, that’s what they play. This is what happens when you do not control the media outlets in your community.

    They could have held the same kind of protest in NY a few years back when all they seemed to play was Snoop, Dre, Tupac, all the southern MCs, etc. on the radio here. Funny to hear Snoop make those comments when I know he wasn’t saying, “They should play Nas, Jay Z, BIG, etc. first because they from NYC” to all the NYC radio stations when he was on top. But, he is right that the LA stations should show love to local artists.

    Thank you westcoast! maybe we will start hearing music you can ride in your car to. If I hear one more song about selling crack, 20in rims and finger snappin. Hip hop died along time ago. 16yr white girls took it over
