I argue it’s more because these women hate themselves, in a place like the USA, than they’re doing just for money. I argue it’s mostly for money, in 3rd world countries, because they’ll buy some bread with that money. USA hoes buy expensive crap and all kinds of useless sh1t that means nothing. Most hookers have mental issues, most likely a history of sexual abuse, and other contributing mental illness, that makes it easy to give unattached sex for money. They’re numb inside! It’s just sad; the law REALLY doesn’t care, parents (of these young ladies) don’t care; nothing new, no solutions (I’d seen OLD photos of ladies doing this 100 years ago, although this happened since day 1,it seems like history repeating itself…..

They are lost because for the most part they were never thaught who they really are; and given that some were thaught, it could be that it was not reinforced – either through examples in their family or their community. If they knew that they were designed and chosen for a purpose greater than themselves, I imagine that they would spend their days and night seeking knowledge, wisdom and understanding in preparation for the opportunity to be a success. A success not as the world defines it but as the one who created them defines it.
I don’t know alot…. actually I know less than I claim to know. But I firmly believe that God has a plan for these young ladies too and each of us can help them – if we choose to.

My suggestions:
Educate yourself on resources in your community

Make a concerted effort to be a part of young lady/young man life who is having a difficult time

Share your insight and knowledge with them – you are older and hopefully a little wiser

Be a friend/big brotheror a big sister – Don’t be a parasite that exploits the vulnerable (specifically sexually)

Don’t judge them – try to help them understand where there behaviour stem from .

There are lots of chicks on bp that I know for a fact that are prostitutes.

I feel that in the impoverished portion of the Black community we have subconsciously accepted prostitution as a legitamate practice, mothers always tell theri daughters not to take company with a man unless he is giving her money, the songs by many of our rap and rythem and blues singers promote the giving of sex in exchange for money. I have heard such lyrics such as “p***y pays my bills” another “pay my telephone bill” and lots of others,the messge of using sex for financial gain has so pervaded our community,our minds and our nation untill it all seems normal to kids born between 1984 and 2000 and is therefore acted out with no second thought at all.I have met many women who have tried to use me as a “trick”,this term is no more than a nice way of saying “prostitute”. In many of those cases when they tried to use me as fool they werent the side street city tramps as you would see in Atlantic city or in Nevada,they were women who worked a job,some were nurses and mcdonalds workers I would crack on while getting a meal,they call it tricking but again I say ,it all boils down to prostitution.

CAUSE THE OLDER WOMEN ARE HOES!!!!

This is an interesting topic. I’ve seen this from a few angles. I’ve been around young women who felt that they were working with what they had. They didn’t have a father, their mother was heavily on drugs and nonexistent. They slept with men to receive the necessities , food, shelter, clothing. I have adoptive cousins, their biological parents were abusive, drug addicts and such. My aunt who adopted them was very strict. They had a good home with her, they just had to abide by rules that we all sometimes have to. In their late teens they rebelled, ran off. Living on the streets, seeing how hard it truly is. Being attacked by johns, and pimps alike. So close to losing their lives. They’ve recounted just how horrific it all is. Going home with a man just so that they can receive a hot shower, and be able to sleep in a bed. What stuck with me was them saying how they never knew just how good they had it until they experienced that. I believe that’s the case with a lot of these young women, they think they’re missing out on something and they go out in to the world the wrong way. I agree with philosophyqueen. It’s up to us to educate our young men and women. Show them their worth, encourage them to reach their potential. Inform them that there isn’t anything out there that they are missing out on. In the process we could save them so much unnecessary suffering. Ultimately, it is up to us to help these young people.

This just gose to show, that men need to be in there childs life. Or at lease be in it more. It may seem dumb, but I seen women over the years turn out wild with out both or just with out the dad. I co-signs with most of your comments because they’re a mix of different things that lead some young women into prostitution. Just last week a couple of people were busted for taking in runaways and forcing them into prostitution. The bigger picture is too many people thinks pimps are men but they’re wrong because there are women who pimping too.

A female pimp was in the news who told her son to rape the girls to turn them and if the girls didn’t do as told the mother have another man “enforcer” beat the crap out of them.

Now all of them been arrested and the runaways been reunited with their family and some put in foster homes (problems at home with mothers/fathers).

There’s also the good girls who have mothers who are so jealous of them it’s unbelievable how they treated their own flesh. There’s been stories about women who throw their daughters out because they got new boyfriends so see their daughters as a threat/rival! Then there’s the mothers who are just plain jealous of their own daughters. SMDH

Even if the daughters are raised by fathers, there’s still problem because they either sexually, physically or mentally abused their own daughters. Then there’s the men who hook up with another woman have kids and ignore their daughter who don’t get on with the new step mothers and runaway or is throw out. I knew one young lady who father hook up with a white woman who told him his daughter called her white trash so he threw his ONLY daughter out! SMDH

Years later this daughter done great with her life after I told her stay away from those thugs and pimps (men/women) and tracked her grandparents (father’s parents) and move in with them. She went back to school, college and met a great brother who married her. Now her father was cut off by BOTH his parents when they found out what he done and today he is a bum in the street still with that white woman both crackheads. Karma, karma karma. I also knew another sister who father and mother were still together but abused her so badly she ran away at the young age of 14. She met all kind of nasty people in the hood until one day I saw her and pull her ass up to get out before she become another “unknown” found in the gutter. Please to say she move down south to stay with an aunt who done a great job bringing her up far away from the madness.

Children are OUR future and I would never allow someone in my family to get away with some crazy sh*t like some people do with their children. If any of you know members of your family mistreating their children, you have every right to be guardian to the child/children so they can grow up and have a sane balance decent life without the drama, abuses and pains their own parents put them through be it from a single parent home or two. Money should not be the main problem in not helping a child because a child’s life is worth more than money! There are children who been prostituted raised by great role models who if they’re retired do get something from the states they lived in to support the children. That’s why most black people should start learning to save money and invest you never know when you will need that money plus trust me the reward for raising these children is worth it. But we’ve proven that even if you have both parents, seemingly giving love, humans can do crazy sh1t! Look at that white boy who killed the white girl in Aruba, then the Peruvian in Peru. Had established, rich, parents, and he was a serial killer. Self hate, mental issues, etc can come from any background, because these patterns are not only learned behavior, some of the critical wiring, is genetic. So your home situation is likely the culprit, but isn’t limited to that. If you have low self esteem, you’re likely to hoe, on many different levels.

The only point I want to add is that some “romance hustlers” (my particular name to group all those who exchange levels of intimacy for money) are opportunists, not necessarily victims of abuse. A lot of such women come from loving homes, though sexual morality may not be taught with a lot of rigidity maybe. I think the explosion of the internet in the adult entertainment space, coupled with this nasty recession/depression we’re in, and an insatiable need for the finer things in life has contributed to a need to become romance hustlers.
