Canadian songbird Melanie Fiona tries to keep her personal life private. Some details have found their way to the press. Sources at the New York Post’s Page Six are reporting Melanie Fiona is singing about heartbreak because of her split with boyfriend Adam Rodriguez. Many know Rodriguez from his role on CSI: Miami and in Tyler Perry’s I Can Do Bad All By Myself. The pair were quietly dating for three years and had a home together in Los Angeles. Recently, they split up.

Melanie Fiona’s latest project, The MF Life, details a woman who deals with heartache. Some of the songs include “Wrong Side of Love,”Gone And Never Coming Back,” and the hit “4 AM.”

Adam Rodriguez’ rep says Adam didn’t cause any of the pain or anguish written in Melanie Fiona’s songs. “Adam knows about all of those songs, but they were written months ago — they were very happy together. Adam still cares about her,” the rep stated.
