Man Bone is the best to ever do it….since ’88, over 50 mil in the U.S., over 100 mil world wide, 19 number 1 singles….the longest running single in rap history @ number 1, the most innovative ever, 1st to introduce “Thugs” to the scene when every1 wanted 2 be gangstas now u can’t go anywhere without some1 calln themselves a thug, every1 is rockn braids because Bone made it cool, every1 wants 2 sing and rap fast because Bone was the 1st to do it, Bone doesn’t get nearly the credit they deserve for all the trends they had set not to metion being the only 1s every to do songs with Big Pun, 2Pac, B.I.G., Eazy-E, & Phil Collins (while the rappers were actually ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!! And not using vocals 2 add to the song). If you wanna be technical anout it meth was the first to do songs with both big and pac. He did “the what” with big in 94 and “mind made up” with pac in 96. Bone on the other hand did “notorious thugs” with big in 96 and “thug luv” with pac in 97.

Seems that would make meth the first to do songs with them both. Saying bone was the first to intoduce “thugs” to people is a matter of semantics. Whats the difference between a thug an a gangsta in terms of rap?

As far as innovative the wu was the first to introduce the concept of a large rap group where all the members were capable emcees as opposed to one rapper, a DJ and a hype man. They also introduced the concept of contracts where if the groups was signed to one label the individual members were free to get solo deal with other record labels if they wanted.

The roots are (as far as I know) the first rap group to introduce the concept of live music into the act. If that ain’t innovative I don’t know what is. Outkast, the first or one of the first groups to introduce southern rap to the mainstream (along with scarface).

I like bone, but don’t put yourself out there life every major trend in hip-hop is because of them. Idk where you from but here in Miami people been rocking braids since way before bone came out. I’m sure bone is recognized many places in the world just liek many rappers/groups. But a group like the wu can go to Asia and have little old Korean ladies screamin “Wu Tang Clan aint nuthin to f**k with”. That when you well known.

Billy you are going off when we heard the song. Technically Pac died in 96 so the song was recorded in 96 or before that. Bones album got pushed to 97. So Bone did both songs in 96 with Pac & Big.

That still dont change the fact that meth did the song with big in 94 and pac in 96 or earlier. He did it first no matter how you spin it
