Wrong Folks! Tracy got started in his living room making his mother and his brother laugh and it was in Brooklyn….he then went on to make people laugh who came into the shoe store he worked at (where he bought his first pair of Penny Loafers and put a real penny in them!…LOL)then it was onto the Uptown Comedy club in Harlem….and it was Martin who gave Tracy the best advice he ever got….and I was blessed enough to have Tracy pass it onto me….For those who know the real Tracy Morgan!….I love and miss you Darlin and am so proud of you!

Tracy was discovered by doing comedy at the Apollo when he was 16 in 1984 however Tracy began his career on the tv show Martin where he played the Hustle Man.

My bad, he started at the Uptown Comedy club where a referred him to go. He had seven minuts to do his thing. He got paid $25 a gig which apprently was enough to feed his family. Afterwards, he got contact with Martin and went on from there.

he started seriously pursuing comedy after his best friend was killed. a week before his murder his friend advised him to go into comedy. he began with low paying gigs at the Uptown Comedy Club. then he went to having a small part on Martin (a hit show in the 90′s)as the character Hustle Man. In 1996 he got his break into SNL and it went on from there.

Tracy Morgan is a very funny man, I will see “Cop Out”, but to answer the contest question, besides being funny with friends and family, before he ever got on a stage and did standup. His first standup apperarance was at the Uptown Comedy Club on 125Th in Harlem, when Chris Tucker missed his plane, and could not perform, and the club gave him, his first seven minutes….

Tracy Morgan got his start in comedy in New York city, he was discovered in 1984 while doing stand-up at The Apollo. :)

He is best known from his tenure on Saturday Night Live from 1996-2003. On SNL he played the characters, Astronaut Jones and Brian Fellow.

Morgan began his career on Martin, where he played Hustle Man. The character sold random items he had from the ‘hood, always greeting people with his trademark “What’s happ’n, chief?” and had a pet chihuahua that he dressed as a rapper.

Tracy Morgan got his start in comedy doing stand up and was “discovered” performing at the apollo theater. The movie looks hysterical! Can’t wait.
