Personally, I’ve always taken the coward’s way out when I felt the need to get into a fight. I always provoke somebody into hitting me first then I could muster the necessary anger to retaliate. I can only think of one instance in my entire life where I actually struck a guy first. I was getting money out of a cash machine at 55th and 6th Avenue in Manhattan one night and an old white bum asked me for a few dollars. I told him “no” and he called me a “devil”. For some reason, this upset me so badly that I kicked the poor fellow in the shoulder (he was far too repulsive to touch with my hands)!

Now, I’ve been called an N-word by white people on more than one occasion. This has always left me perplexed. I’ve been called the F-word a few times too. That always brings a chuckle. I’ve been slapped like Chris Brown handling Rihanna by women I’ve called the B-word. I also got hit with a frying pan for calling a woman the C-word. Yet, with the exception of that time the bum called me a “devil”, words might have made me angry, but never caused me to fly to fisticuffs.
Notorious rampaging blogger and homosexual Perez Hilton has found a way to get himself into the headlines again recently, this time for getting pimp-slapped by Black Eyed Peas front man Will.i.Am after he called Will.i.am a “f___ing f-word”.

Let’s try to ignore the 300lb gorilla-sized irony involved in Perez’s choice of words for a moment and just concentrate on the effect they had on Will.i.Am. No one’s here to judge, but one would think that being called just so by someone so obviously… well… you know… would have had the effect of making the great rapper laugh uproariously, not attempt an on-the-spot Tysonizing.

That is, unless those particular terms are Will.i.am’s “fighting words”. I’m thinking they have to be.
