Number one, Angelina Joile has had lip augmentation. So there goes her “natural” beauty. Number two, Belle and Dyvuh(?)[besides "hater" that's a word that has been grossly overused]it’s funny when people talk all good about Halle Berry and then get pissed about Nubian men and Caucasian women getting together. Please, that nutbag had THREE brothers and THEY instigated the split. The sad part about it is that I knew that her last marriage wouldn’t last because that guy plays the “sensitive” role as an act for the groupies. Plus, I actually had the chance to meet him (Eric Benet, for the uninformed) and he said that she had a few screws loose! But thats what happens when you ignore the signs, and she had three ASSHOLES. I think with all of her intelligence, that she could perceive the warning. This is an example of some of my own personal experiences with Nubian women. They were so busy trying to attract the fellows who would obviously flaunt their paycheck to keep them appeased that the brothers (such as myself) who weren’t really into that scene would often be passed up. And then after they get treated like garbage and they become a semen dump for those guys, these same women want to venture my way with a bunch of kids, sad sob stories about how they were mentally emotionally and physically abused. Thats why I opted to date outside of my “ethnic group”. But I don’t rule out the possibility of datingblack women. I just refuse to confine myself to actions that would compromise aspects of my own psyche. In laymans terms, I’m not going to put on an act for a black, white, brown, olive, yellow, or red woman PERIOD! If they are happy then big whoop. I honestly think that there should be more relevant issues to address such as these blatant attacks on Obama, or the lackluster education that nubians and latinos are getting here, or more affordable medical assistance. Or how about the negative connotations of the behavior of blacks that Hollyweird perpetuates throughout the WORLD that obviously has people like ‘Dyvuh brainwashed. Or better yet, why can’t we ponder on the fact that there are more white people on welfare, just as many with credit card debt, and more white people who admittedly abuse drugs, yet the stereotype of the debt carrying person is usually a stigma born by blacks, and blacks make up a vast majority of the drug related offenses in this country. Why can’t people talk about that inequality instead of being placated by what these people who obviously don’t give a s**te about you are doing? As for Halle Berry, how she is/was in her relationship with Eric is a MATTER OF OPINION. None of us were privy to the “day to day” occurences in her household. What is apparent is that Eric did cheat…PERIOD POINT BLANK! Angelina lips have not been augmented…don’t believe the hype. This girl, has had the same lips since I have seen her face grace the big screen and they even have childhood pics online that you can confirm that. Confirmation was when I saw Shiloah (her and Brad’s daughter) with the SAME lips–enough said! You can’t say that a little 2 year old girl has had her lips done (lol). I respect your opinion and agree with you WHOLE HEARTEDLY on the issues that are of true/real importance. Furthermore, we have all gone back and forth on this thread about nothing when you really think about it because 1)these two (Reggie & Kim) could care less about us and 2)who is the say the are “back together”??? Cestleon, I’m sure why you even bothered to address me in your post other than to highlight the names that i pointed out of non-black talented women to whom I have no problem giving props to. Then you go into some long drawn out Halle vs. Angelina Jolie discussion that has nothing to do w/anything that I said. Then before departure you jump on your high horse of society to berate all bloggers who commented (which is what a blog/comment section is for) berating them for spending energy on the same topic you obviously found the time to waste an entire…run onparagraph to. WOW! lol.

First of all, I’m not arguing Angelia Joelie’s beauty vs. Kim or anyone else (as a matter of fact I think I conceded she is, w/out doubt a gorgeous woman) or whether Halle is stable nor am I patting her on the back for her dating decisions or arguing that the girl is obviously relationship retarded. As a matter of fact I never brought Halle up, so where did she come into your discussion as it pertains to my comment.

As for what I did say, I’m not flipping out about who Bush dates. He can date a bald monkey if he so pleases and it wouldn’t phase me. I simply saw an article, read it, read the comments, saw some asanine blame game going on about why brothers make the choices they do and I spit the alternate female opinion on the subject.

I don’t know what it is in this new age w/this group of black thinkers but it baffles me. We see media promote these ideas of us and who we should date, or we look at what Hollywood is doing, we listen to a few jaded men come out complaining because they are bitter and suddenly it becomes the brothers mantra. The reason the subject is so hot is because 1) the contraversy btwn black men and women sales. It sales books, its sales television shows, magazines, movies etc. The other reason is because its a social phenomenon fueled by celebrity drama and ridiculousness.

Just like problack fades such as “nubian” this and that. What the heck is a nubian? Some made up term that come out in the late 80s and 90s to make us feel better about ourselves! Another stupid urban fade just like “hater” and angry black woman syndrome”.

I said what I said based on the logic of theory I saw in a conversation about an article, nothing more nothing less. I followed the string of the discussion and put my two-cents on the topic at hand. Prior to that my dear, I was studying my criminal procedure and my legal profession information for my law classes. Unlike some, I don’t know what that might be, I actually more action than talk. Since I don’t like the way the world is turning I decided to get involved by getting educated to earn a place in society that will allow me to simulatenously give back and affect change. Now…since you are so profoundly, socially and morally better than we, please enlighten me as to how you are contributing to the world issues at large?

Are you volunteering, are you spreaheading non-profits, are you positioning or have you positioned yourself to get in a political arena to actually help Obama actualize his plans or are you just gungho about “tallking” about those issues vs. celebrity gossip. Because if I am correct it would seem the latter is the case considering you just commented on the same thread I did and argued the same point about the same assanine topic you’re condemning we pop culture junkies for entertaining. Them 3 fingers pointing back at you must make you feel really silly right?

Furthermore. I find this whole Angry Black Woman Syndrome as silly as I found the Angry Black man syndrome that was promoted in the 90s when I was coming up. Its all bull. Sydrome denotes there’s an illness of some kind. 1) to be ill something had to have made you sick. 2) social phenomenons like frustrated black women in the wake of a frustrated urban culture is not a sydrome. Its called socialization. If a woman has been socialized and programmed and her world has been filled w/an angry urban culture of men and women whose issues stem all the way back to willy lynch methods and our own issues then you can expect her to reproduce what has been put in her. I grew in an impoverished environment, as did many black women I know. I just grew up w/rules and values and a father that took responsibility for the lives he created and stuck around to rear them, even when my parent’s relationship fell apart. A father who at the age of 30something when his marriage dissolved was not too proud to go back to his beginnings w/the female example who raised him, live w/her till he could readjust his financial position. He opted to trade out needing to look “fly” and have status for seeing it to it his children were fed. And yes my mother was one of those who ultimately drove her husband away because she listened to her friends more than talking her spouse. But she learned a valuable lesson. And rather than being bitter and blaming him and the world at large for her issues she took responsibility for her part in her failed marriage and she imparted into her daughters what NOT to do. So at the end of the day, I’m not an angry black woman either. I have very healthy relationships w/black men family and otherwise. I’ve been in a bad relationship or two, I took those experiences as lesssons and moved on. And I left the negative image of that man or those men on them as individuals. I didn’t blame an entire culture of men for a couple of bad experiences. But that is what you do when you are a well rounded adult. You take responsibility for your own life, mistakes, mishapps, unhappiness and so on.

Me caring about this subject has little to do w/my own insecurity. It has to do w/my fascination of this culture’s mentality, how we tear, devour and blame one another. The true fact of the matter is…the world has changed. Race relations have shifted the world over. We’re learning to embrace and accept one another. If a black man dates an armenian woman, a japanese woman, a martian, why can’t he just take responsibility and say hey, i just like something different. I don’t feel rejected when I walk down the street and see interracial couples.

I do get pissed when I see subjects like this where black males are a categorically defending a woman whose reputation preceeds her in public circles and who, if she were an average woman and especially were she a black woman would condemn her to hell and declare they wouldn’t touch her w/a 10 foot pole. I get pissed when I see men of my common culture coming to the “theoretical” defense of a non-black hollywood figure when, were it a black woman you wouldn’t see them waste a breathe to defend. They’d be on the bangwagon running her down along w/other brothers. Usher married and average looking, dark complected black woman and brothers everywhere gagged and joined black women in talking about how old, ugly and outof shape she was and deemed her a gold digger. But I guarantee had he married demi moore half of that wouldn’t have been said.

So at the end of the day who is really “brainwashed”. I know who I am, I know where I come from. I’m proud of my culture and my hertiage as a women of color in this country. I’m grateful for the strides my ancestors made to open the way for me. I have no problem dating men of my own culture. I also have no problem dating and finding men of other cultures attractive. But the difference is I don’t feel the need to excuse away any choice that I make or collectively run down black men in order to justify. Nor do I feel the need to falsely pretend I’m not preturbed by a a phenomenon that just baffles me (this disapportinate rate of black men dating interracially while blaming black women for their misery) or feel the need to rainbow date in order to prove my social evovlement and security as a black woman in society.

Bottom line, in my opinion, KIM is an idiot whose claim to fame is saling herself pornographically to a spot in the limelight and get the attention of well off men. Period. From her presentation in media she seems to lack any substanace, intelligence, and she does not add to world culture in anyway.

That’s my opinion and I’m entitled to it. Label me whatever you like. I don’t feel the need to pretend to be polictically correct to appear secure in myself as a black woman!

I do think i’m qualified to critique your rebuttal due to the fact that I am a practicing licensed attrorney (of which i’m only bringing up because you did “education drop” in your statement about your “law classes”, you are a very long way from being a practicing attorney). I say that not to ridicule, but as advice to try to stay away from “education dropping”, it does nothing to enhance your argument and only further frustrates the reader, especially if that reader is not educated on your level. Also, you ridiculed Cestleon for using the term “nubian”, your lack of knowledge and failure to do your research on this word really disappoints me due to the fact that you are a law student. The question to my presentation in terms of the legal field would come in as it pertains to my either acting unethically…or….practicing unethically or under the standard of care. Please be sure. Where it counts I believe in researching my materials. I brought out education only to point out to the self righteous one that not everyone on here is uneducated and shiftless. I’m not here to belittle or PROVE anything to you are anyone else. I’m in law school. I’m getting both the exposure and the education. And unless you either effect my grades or my future in terms of getting hired. Your opinion is of no consequence to me.

And while we’re talkin about writing. Perhaps you should take a cue from some of the CURRENT authorities on legal writing. Your prose was entirely too long, from the beginning did not catch the readers attention. I was bored less than halfway through. That’s a no no in the modern legal writing world. Concise clearity is the model. Before you attempt to educate me….work on your own presentation.

My professors and those attorneys who are my mentors find my written prose to be perfectly acceptable as it pertains to RELEVANT legal writing. So again. I’ll stick with the opinions of those who affect my future. You can keep yours. Thanks. Peace and blessings and good luck to you in all your endeavors.

Therefore I am certainly FULL OF FLAWS IN LEGAL THEORY and PRACTICE. Yes! You nailed that on the head…not rocket science considering I am a STUDENT, not a PRACTIONER of the law. That said. This is a blog. And it has absolutely NOTHING to do w/my legal career in substance, ethically or otherwise (considering I am not saying or doing anything to compromise my role as a future attorney and therefore am not positioning myself to be scrutinized and disqualified by the bar adminssions committee when I am interviewed for character and fitness). Nor are or can the conversation being had here be construed as a representation of my legal career. Its a conversation, had in a very diplomatic way on a comments section under a picture. Truly you should spend more time perfecting the practice of your particular field and dislodging the stick from your anus that has you so uncomfortably uptight than worrying about the basis of my arguement or my “failure” to research. I find it interesting that out of all i said that was VALID you found one comment that was passing and decided to overly focus on that. If that is the way you go about analyzing your legal questions and presenting your breifs to the court or memos to colleagues I can say your career probably isn’t that magnificent.

The current notion about the God complex of present practicing attorneys is absolutely true. That said, your small onesided mind missed the point of me “education dropping” as you put it. It was to point out to the writer that just because someone is blogging on a subject they find frivolous does not make that person unintelligent or incapable of conversing on more serious subjects. That was the whole and only point. Perhaps had you read my comment in context you could have picked up on that.

And Shamel whether you are in law classes or something other, if your effort is to contribute to the improvement of the legal field/criminal system it is noble.

Quiet as its kept, law school is not the high society some would have you to believe. its a transition in educational understanding, thinking and comprehension. Once you learn the jargon and the legal way of analyzing it become easy to acclamate. But don’t be fooled, theory and practice are 2 different areas. Be sure to get all the field work you can. Its really an apprenticeship profession in my opinion. But then again, I am a hands on learner!
