One year ago today hip-hop lost one of its pioneers, John “Mr. Magic” Rivas.

    All three nailed it!!! Flex and Pos touched on the fact how articulate magic was and how he presented hip hop in a way that went beyond 40 drinking and cheeba smokin, gossip, beefs etc…it always has been and always will be about just the music! Flex should have spoke about where he got the “bomb” from!

    I grew up in alittle town around Pittsburgh P.A but would always spend my summers in Newark N.J and would always be there with my boom box waiting to tape Mr. Magics rap attack. At the end of summer, I would have alot of tapes to bring back home with me to Pittsburgh in witch everyone I knew would try to record the tapes from me.

    WBLS, 98.7 KISS, Those where the days back in the 80′s. I grew up in Newark, NJ, and i remember The Rap Attack, Juice Crew All-stars, Red Alert, Chuck Chillout. RIP Mr. Magic
