I must disagree with most of you. His mother knows him better than anyone else here. What I think she was saying is that he may have done something terrible, but that is not the man that he is and I agree with her. He reacted totally violently wrong after being attacked by Rhianna and the mother knows and understands this, but she also knows her son is not that type of person in his heart. Also I don’t believe she meant that MJ died so Chris could take MJ’s place…no one ever can! Chris I believe has loved MJ so much that Chris feels MJ’s spirit when Chris sings MJ’s song. That’s all folks. Let’s not make more of this and try to see it from another point of view.

What I’m sure his mother meant was that MJ’s death as tragic as it was helped her son gain back some of the respect he lost in his ordeal and some of his fans…he is making a comeback and had it not been for MJ dying, he would not be on the path to career recovery. I am sure she meant nothing about him being God’s gift to the world…MJ’s death allowed Chris that performance that revived his career. Chris Brown’s mom must have intended to speak “metaphorically.” It seems she may have meant that now that Michael Jackson has transitioned, it may now be time for Chris Brown to blossom into his “space” for the fans, audience, society, world. Nevertheless, she must have recanted when she realized that noone can actually “take” Michael Jackson’s place. Michael Jackson EARNED it fully and meritoriously; and his contribution to the world is too magnificent and extensive; it is irreplaceable. A mother’s love for her son can cause her to misspeak herself.

I guess the statement was made to create a buzz. Some believe that any publicity is good publicity. It is obvious that Chris Brown never has/never will fit in the same category as Michael Jackson. Sure he can dance, but that really ends the comparison. Neyo is a better comparison. Musically influences do not end with Michael. Had he lived, he would not stood in the way of any other arists success. While Michael was alive, artists like Neyo and Usher had great success and they were both conpared to Michael. No one is to blame for another person’t lack of success. Chris had a great start which began prior to Michael’s death. Michael did not cause Chris’ career to stall. Nevertheless, Michael’s career spanned over 40 years. I don’t think any up and coming artists will have this type of success. Chris is talented, but needs to concentrate on improving himself. If Michael was his idol, Man in the Mirror should be his motivation to not only get his career on track, but to work on himself internally. Chris seems to have a lot of demons that he needs to rid of himself. On the outside, he appears to be a lovable guy, but on the inside, he has an explosive temper, mean spirited, and just not a good person. You can only hide the true you for so long. While he needs to concentrate on his career, he needs to seek counseling to work on himself. His mom is probably feeling guilty about the environment she subjected him to (if his allegations are true). Although, she has done well in jump starting his career, but she needed to concentrate on being a parent to teach the child right from wrong, protect him from any harm, and instill the values which will serve as the foundation for him to utilize as an adult. (I guess something like Usher’s mom.) While Chris is no longer a child, he needs to take it upon himself to surround himself with positive people and hopefully this positive energy will transcend to him, hence, making him a better person. If you’re going to be a mom, go to your son and try to work on building a relationship and work on the foundation. I’m sorry, but Twitter is not the way to handle things. Maybe the mother should attend some parenting classes and couseling (they both need one on one counseling, then later group counseling together)…it’s never too late. Success is not measured by record sales or movie deals, success is measured by the Man in the Mirror when no one else is around to rally behind you.
