The start of Ja Rule‘s two-year prison term for attempted gun possession has been delayed thanks to a Manhattan Supreme Court Judge who is letting the former Murder Inc. rapper stay free until June.

Ja Rule’s lawyer, Stacey Richman, says that the rapper will use his extra time outside to finish his upcoming album and to settle a tax issue.
“We want to finish the album, and there’s also a tax issue,” said Richman. “Somebody, an accountant, had filed an incorrect form, and this is to correct what was done in the past,” Richman told the New York Post.
