As an artist(and I use that term very loosely here) your personality is your boundary because your art has to be believable enough for fans to make a connection between it and you. Lil Wayne has no respect for the rich legacy of jazz that comes out of New Orleans and most of these youngins have no exposure to TIMELESS artistry that came before them. Keep in mind, from a musical, lyrical and imagery standpoint, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is STILL CULTURALLY AND SOCIALLY relevant and important and serves as a guide for young black people. But I guess if you keep conditioning the youngins to stay hollow, disconnected, uninformed and without substance, I guess Nicki will in fact be quite relevant. Complacency breeds laziness which breeds ignorance and complacency –a cyclical pattern that one can identify in many facets of black life.
