Petey Pablo is facing ten years in jail after pleading guilty to possession of a stolen weapon yesterday afternoon. The North Carolina rapper was caught with the weapon on September 11, 2010 while trying to board a flight at Raleigh-Durham Airport to Los Angeles for the 2010 MTV VMAs.
Police found a 9mm handgun and live ammunition in Petey’s carry-on luggage. The gun was later found to be stolen. Making matters worse is the fact that Petey is a convicted felon and is not supposed to be in possession of firearms.
Petey claimed that the weapon belonged to a friend who was threatening to use it and that he forgot that he had taken the gun and put it in his bag.
