Monique Channeled Own Abuse For Role In “Precious”

In this week’s issue of PEOPLE, Mo’Nique opens up about the sexual abuse she allegedly suffered at the hands of her eldest brother – and how she channeled that experience onscreen.
“Coming from being molested as a child, when [director Lee Daniels] said, ‘I need you to be this monster,’ well [I] knew who that monster was,” she says.
Now, critics are pegging Mo’Nique, 41, as a possible Oscar nominee, but that doesn’t phase her. “Any buzz I’m appreciative of,” she says simply.

I read PUSH years ago and was so happy that it was finally made into a movie. But d@mmit it’s not released in Las Vegas!

Oh my this movie was very moving and sad but it was a good movie. Monique really played her part..
Well it hits Arizona Nov 20. and i cant wait!!
Why hasn’t this movie been rolled out in more theaters? I am waiting to see this. Though many have said this isn’t something that they want to see, I am looking forward to this movie.
