In case you haven’t noticed, the Tribeca Film Festival kicked off last week and is drawing to a close this weekend — but amidst the paparazzi shots of Sanaa Lathan and Sasha Grey, don’t miss this incredibly gritty gem about a former breakdancer turned single father who finds himself living vicariously through his youngest child.

In the early ’80s, Jesse Diaz was a rising star in the hip-hop world. Now a broke single father in Harlem with two children to support, Jesse finds a shot at redemption in his nine-year-old daughter Priscilla Star, a precocious and immensely talented rapper. Director Gabriel Noble follows four years of father-daughter ups and downs as they navigate the grit and the glamour of the music biz.

The final screening is taking place Saturday at 12:45 at The AMC Village VII 3

I hate it when parents try to live their lives through their kids…he should let those kids be kids && stop subjecting them to the harsh life to the music industry.
