Auto-Tune Creators Use Jay-Z For New Product
Instead of scrambling to dismiss Jay-Z’s claims on “Death of AutoTune,” the technology’s creator Antares Audio is using the superstar’s stance for product advertisement. Dubbed the “next generation” of professional pitch correction, Antares Audio has created Auto-Tune Evo.
The new technology immediately deciphers the pitch of any inputted information, and finds the closest match in the scale the user specifies for pitch correction.
Included are minor, major, chromatic, and 26 other historical and microtonal scales.
Other new features for the product are real-time pitch shifting, throat modeling (vocal character modification), a redesigned user interface, and many more.
Hailed as a breakthrough upon its 1997 release, the Auto-Tune primarily was utilized to correct pitch and phrasing mistakes made by singers in their vocal performances.
Through other settings, the device can also be used to create dramatic distortions of the human voice such as echoing, and the now-famous computerized vocal effect first heard on Cher’s 1998 hit “I Believe.”
In recent years, the device has come to dominate the charts after prominent use from hit songwriter T-Pain and Kanye West on his multi-platinum album 808s & Heartbreak.
The Auto-Tune is often confused with its predecessor the talkbox (used by Roger Troutman, Peter Frampton, and Bon Jovi).
That device modifies the sound of instruments when a musician uses different speech sounds via a tube inserted in their mouths.
Jay-Z has stated his new single was created due to the Auto-Tune’s oversaturation, culminating with the mogul hearing the effect used in a Wendy’s commercial.
In a new press release, their new product is dubbed the “unequivocal response” to Jay-Z’s claims, asserting the Auto-Tune effect will remain a staple of the music industry.
However, the company does not address whether their creation will continue to have a future as a robotic vocal effect, or simply return to its original use of pitch correction.
At press time, Jay-Z could not be reached for comment.

Jay Z cant do it or relate to it..Right now he lacks creativity So he disses what artist are doin to entertain people..He is rich and I guess it is lonely at the top…
JAY Z LAME AS HELL WOULDNT BUY HIS CD FOR NUN IN THE WORLD
Im gonna have to agree and disagree…for one its just a trend of hip hop yes it will pass but NOT cuz jay-z says so…cats makin money from that thang…yall cant lie some of those joints banging too…lol
i’m with Jay…..time to let auto-tune r.i.p……..
I love the song and Jay is right…autotune is so overused. Like he said, the rappers need to get back to rappin’–they T-Pain’n too much. It was cool the first time I heard it, but now everybody and they pet cat using autotune.
Jayz really hasn’t stopped anyones money. No one has stopped listening to Tpain, Lil Wayne or Kanye. Everybod entitled to their own ideas but 1 Man does not control hip hop. Yall can ride Jay-Z dick in the North but I aint heard that DOA bulls**t played on the radio at all in Atlanta
It’s over and like passengers on a sinking ship, cats are clinging on for dear life. But watch : the same dudes defending auto-tune will either A: be the same ones latching on to the next big thing and calling auto-tune played out. or B: hate on the next over-hyped movement.. Hypocritical? Yep. Expected?? absolutely.
I agree with Jay-Z! Yall done had fun with s**t now hang it up and show some real skills. The Death to Auto Movement
Is it stupid to anybody else that Jay dissin the auto tune while shoutin Kanye out in the same song on a track Kanye co produced? Jay been takin shots at the auto tune since the “Put On” remix w/ Jeezy, he startin to sound like a nigga who runnin out of s**t to talk about. He’s not even dissin the auto tune really he’s dissin ringtone rappers. Old rappers are like old boxers they are always searchin for the glory years. Jay is still that dude but this a cliche ass topic an he needed to comeback with a bang (which it is) BUT the auto tune aint goin nowhere (like chopped n screwed hooks).
Oh my GOODNESS, I’m glad I’m not the only one that is so sick of that autotune junk too! I’mma singer, so how you think I feel about songs like “Blame it”? Wack! It ain’t about hatin…it’s about bein a REAL ARTIST! And that auto tune junk is not artistic in any way, shape, for, or fashion! Jay-Z hit in on the nail!
I agree auto tune is wack-im glad i aint only one tired of that bulls**t
Jay didn’t pull a hater move at all. HE doesn’t give a f**k if you use autotune or not, but the people are tired of hearin that s**t… I know I am! every wanna be singer slaps that s**t on their vocals and thinks they’re creatin some new s**t. that synthesizer s**t was used in the late 60’s or 70’s by a white rock band, so that s**t is far from new. everybody clowned T-Pain for usin the s**t and now all types of f****ts are usin it. it was coo when a few artist were usin it, but now it’s gettin ridiculous. hip hop is all about your rhymes and delivery. autotune is used by lazy rappers who really don’t put any emotion into their rhymes, so D.O.A that s**t Jay and let’s see how many so called talented artist are left when the smoke clears. DEATH TO AUTOTUNE!!!
what was the thing the singer from CAMEO was using? Was it the auto tune or another name?
if someone other than Jay-z said what he said and made it their first single D.O.A they would of been classified as a hater period! ONE MAN DOESNT CONTROL HIP-HOP. Jay disses anything new
Although I love the hell out of Jay and the new song is bumpin as hell, he pulled a hater move. I couldn’t be Kanye, Lil’ Wayne or T-Pain at the BET Awards. I’d be on that stage going head up with Jay, lol. Whether or not AutoTune is dead or alive, them same fellas made hellafied money using it. And they’ll still continue to do so.
Auto tune takes a negative and turn it into a positive. Excellent business move Jay, let’s see if you earn another 30 million. You stay influential, while these new guys, move back to the hood, never to be heard from again and continue to hate on you.
A-T EVO ain’t that new. They are just doing damage control because they know Jay-Z got pull in not only the music industry, but also the corporate world too.
Say what you want about him, but if they didn’t view his song as a threat, then they would’ve stayed silent and kept making money instead of spinning it as hype.
Face it, auto-tune has just about run its course, just like the word bling in the early ’00s.
People will stop “hating” when n*ggas(ignorant individuals) stop being followers and get their own swag ( another soon to be played out euphemism). (Just my opinion and it ain’t gospel BTW.)
Jay is just mad none of his albums have allowed him to come out of retirement. That nigga sucks and his best chance to shine is to diss niggaz that are making money by making music. Dont hate nigga.. you like the old nigga at the club.. its time to pull the church socks up and go the f**k home
LOL..THT’S A GOOD ONE
[SUSPECT]-acular in pink panther draws to people throwing the King of Pop under the bus to this now….
Assbackwardness is the new swag. You better act like you know and ask somebody.
