It would seem that “freestyle” is more in reference to the structure of the song; no chorus/hook/etc. — just “free-flowing” lyrics. Let’s not get our panties in a bunch.

Alot of people tend to think that any rhyme you never heard before is a freestyle. Not True! Freestyle is pulling words out of your mind at a given moment. Something even YOU ain’t heard before. I won’t hate the flow is hot. But jogging 5 miles and driving 5 miles aren’t the same even though they have the same destination. Just like free-styling a hot verse and reading a hot written aren’t the same, though they both have the same conclusion…a hot flow.
