AUDIO: Rihanna “Redemption Song”

Rihanna’s appearing on today’s episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show to perform her recently released charity single, a cover of Bob Marley’s classic “Redemption Song.”

GIVE HAITI QUAKE RELIEF!

While it’s not the worst thing she’s ever recorded (that dubious honor would go to “Unfaithful,”) I don’t think Rihanna has tapped into the raw emotion that’s necessary to cover a song like this.

All snark aside, proceeds from the sale of this single will go to provide relief to those in Haiti, so buy a download, and delete the song if you don’t like it!

    NO WAYYY…she na reddy fi dat one yet star… why she haf fi kill sucha beautiful song like dat? Why Bob… ur not worthy!!!

    But I guess it’s in the name of Charity… Honestly, she would have done better writing a check! A song or two of Rihanna is bareable…if the beat is tight. But her voice is getting pretty lame now! Almost every song sounds the bloody same. And I’m a island girl myself…and I bigg up all my west indian people dem. But what is right is right…and that was just wrong.

    Rihanna has left her listeners disappointed with this cover – it’s too bad, because this is the type of anthem that moves people when performed well.

    Do your thing, leave Marley’s work alone, and hook up the Haitian relief with the proceeds from some or your best work, not this mistake.

    Wtf! I am a HUGE Bob Marley fan and this is a HUGE disappointment. Rihanna cabbarely sing her own songs and now she wants to mess up one of the best songs ever?Write a big check instead.

    BAD IDEA!!!!!! She doesn’t have the SOUL for this song. I am a BIG reggae fan and and even bigger fan of Robert Nesta Marley(Happy Birthday soon!!)…I know she wanted to help and I hope it sells, but WTH was she thinking? Oh yeah, I am a Rihanna fan, too.
