Some of your points have merit but we aren’t living in the age of chivalry. There are women who will be quick to put 2 in your chest as quick as any man will. What a pity. We all know that Oprah is highly acclaimed in all communities not just the black community and she is very respected. However, as much as I admire and respect her, she definitely got this one wrong. First of all, she did talk to quickly and gathered a panel of guests on her show without knowing all the facts. Also, she should have given Chris Brown a chance to tell his side of the story. Her show and stance on the incident was too one sided. Like a previous commentor said, everyone including Chris Brown knew what he did was wrong, but there is always a “why he did it.” People were acting like domestic violence / abuse just happened after Chris Brown and Rihanna got into a little fight. It has been going on for centuries and the plight of the common man or woman needs to be heard over the “ratings” story of the week involving a celebrity such as Chris Brown / Rihanna or Tiger Woods. Think about it. Oprah is cool, but she did stab Chris Brown in the back.

One more quick comment. Oprah does not have the final say on everything and I haven’t always agreed with all of her opinions on certain subjects. She’s also afraid to have certain elements of the black experience on her show. I guess she’s too afraid of losing a certain audience base.

I totally agree with Chris Brown about the BET Awards. Michael Jackson deserves more than what they planned. Even further more all those award shows who try to salute a Tribute in his honor was really horrible.
