As a Freemason myself, I find all of this shyt hilarious. Most of you who talk recklessly about Freemasonry have NO clue what you are talking about. Well let me just say this, I have done some research of my own for people Like Mr_Spann who suggest some don’t even read the bible. Well I read that and more. Rituals are more like graduations ceremonies to a higher degree within the fraternity. No different than you attending a graduation of high school, college or any advanced degree of learning. Going back to your concerns about Masons hiding things. As you can see in my picture, I’m wearing a Masonic T-Shirt, I have a Masonic baseball cap, I have a Masonic ring, I have a Masonic decal on my car. I go to a Masonic Lodge with the Square and Compasses prominently displayed. The Lodge’s telephone number is listed in the Yellow Pages, and the times we meet are on an Event board right outside the lodge. If we were so concerned about keeping our actions secret, why would we publicly display who we are, what cars we drive, what building we frequent and what times we meet? Why are our rituals on sale in Bookstores around the country?

I didn’t join Freemasonry for my salvation or to gain some great truth about life. I joined because men I admired were members. I enjoy the camaraderie of fraternizing with the brothers and my siSTARS. And I’m proud of the work we do in the community. Simple as that.

I believe what you are referring to are “Prince Hall Affiliated” whom are named after the first Black Freemason in the United States, and founded African Lodge #1 in Boston MA. African Lodge #1 was granted a charter by the Premier Grand Lodge of England in 1784 as African Lodge No. 459 making them FULLY recognized by the Masonic Order.

What you must know is that to become a member of Freemasonry one has to be “FREEBORN” meaning he wasn’t a slave to anyone. Knowing the history of this country you would know that many of our ancestors could not be members simply because they were not “FREEBORN”.
Also what you need to understand is that not all Black Freemasons are “PHA” I for one, am not a “PHA” Freemason.

So are any of your Orders associated today with any of the official Orders of the Premier Grand Lodges?

And do any of them function with or in conjunction with any other Lodges in the US that are not black?

What do I ahve a problem with is this current anti Christian movement and our black people willingness to participate and support this.

Everytime a post like this happens I see two themes

The Premier Grand Lodge is now referred to as the United Grand Lodge of England, and is considered the Mother Lodge of Freemasonry. But as it stands now it’s governing body only includes England, Wales and the Channel Islands. It is the OLDEST of all of the Masonic Lodges.

Most duly recognized lodges operating in the United States operate under the Grand Lodge of their state. There are also Prince Hall Grand Lodges in many of these states as well. My Lodge has worked with quite a few Prince Hall lodges. Simply because we are around a lot of Prince Hall Masons, and frequent the same communities.

Have I said anything close to what you are referring to? Usually what I find when I read these type of articles is that people like Jay-Z, or even Barack Obama, could not have possibly achieved what they have on their own. Some of these same people that speak about this say that they have sold their souls to the Devil to get where they are. As if NOBODY becomes successful because they work hard, and even get LUCKY. Why couldn’t their hard work result in them becoming successful???

I don’t think there is an outright contempt for Christ and Christians. I think there is a contempt of the hypocrisy that some Christians display when speaking on issues like this. How can you point your finger at someone and accuse them of Devil Worship, when they say they are a Christian?

Take myself for example, I’m a Christian, but I’m also a Freemason. I know many men of the Cloth that are also Freemasons. But some of these people on these boards would accuse us of Devil Worship. Remember in one of my earlier post I said “How many people have you heard misquote the Bible to tell you what you should and should not do?” YOU HAVE TO READ THAT BOOK YOURSELF. For in 1st Corinthians 12:12-27 it says:

Now of course you don’t have to take my word for it. You can go read it for yourself. The only thing I have implored people to do is STUDY, STUDY, STUDY, and then STUDY some more. Crowley joined a French Grand Lodge which was UNRECOGNIZED by ‘mainstream’ Freemasonry. In fact, one of Crowley’s well-known writings expresses his great disgust when he wasn’t acknowledged as a Mason by Masons in London, where he lived at the time. I believe you to be referring to Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount that can be found at Matthew 5:34-37. In order to understand these words we must consider what evil Christ was trying to correct and what he was trying to accomplish by these words.

It will be noted that He does not say “The taking of an oath is evil and is forbidden” but rather that “it cometh from evil” if an oath is necessary.

At the time of Christ it was believed that the Jewish law did not require a mere promise to be kept unless supported by an oath. It was also believed that it was not necessary to speak the truth unless under oath. The matter was applied so technically that it was believed that an oath not taken in the prescribed legal form was not binding. So long as the Jews dealt with themselves and were familiar with these technical distinctions no great difficulty arose. But in their dealings with others it was the cause of much misunderstanding; some historians have even claimed that some of the antagonism toward the Jews was caused by this rule followed by the Jews even in dealing with foreigners. At any rate, Christ announced the doctrine that one should tell the truth always.

Furthermore in your reference to Secrecy. I have already addressed this before, but I guess I should go further. Masons make no secret about who they are. Many wear lapel pins, or rings, or T-Shirts, or hats, or some other type of masonic jewelery. Many put decals or license plate frames on their cars. We meet at building that are CLEARLY MARKED and have the Square and Compasses prominently displayed. Many lodges post the meeting times on the outside of the building. Now we have already established that Freemasonry is not a secret, granted most newer brothers in the Fraternity tend to want to make it known that they are indeed Freemasons and are excited to let the world know about their new accomplishment. For the record, let me say that I have never bought a Jay-Z album, and I don’t agree with the criminal lifestyle he is known for rapping about, but I do think he is one of the best MC’s, and he has made some of the hottest music of the last 10 plus years.

It’s obvious that his success has come from talent and smart business moves, not some bullsh*t conspiracy theory.

There are 4 main reasons why people believe that Illuminati sh*t about Jay-Z, and they are ALL false:

1.) Because he is so rich and famous—-I don’t know who started this, but all of a sudden, everybody thinks it’s IMPOSSIBLE to earn fame and wealth without being a “devil worshiping alum of the Illuminati”!! People have just COMPLETELY IGNORED EVERYTHING this dude has done to get to his position, but I’ll remind you.

2.)Because he calls himself “Jay-Hova”—- He has made it perfectly clear in his music that he uses that moniker because he sees himself as the “god MC”, i.e., the perfect MC, not because he actually thinks he IS a “god”. (To me, it’s like saying he is the “Santa Claus of rap”, but I guess superstitious people are offended). In his music, he has on several occasions made reference to his own faith in god. Example: “God forgive me for my brash delivery, but I remember vividly what these streets did to me”. In fact, during promotion of his last album, The Blueprint 3, he went on “Real Time with Bill Maher” who is a known atheist. Bill Maher made a comment in reference to Kanye’s song “Jesus Walks” expressing his doubt about Jesus. Jay didn’t even respond, he just slowly slid his chair away from Bill, looking up at the sky, as if to say “I didn’t say it God, he did, so let me move back before you strike him”.

There are other rappers that refer to themselves as being some sort of “god”, but they aren’t as rich and famous as Jay, so of course conspiracy theorists ignore them. (Not that they SHOULD be targeted either).You have Rakim who calls himself “Rakim Allah”, you have O.D.B who changed his name to “Big Baby Jesus”, and you have Nas who not only calls himself “Gods Son”, but has it tattooed on his stomach. Then the most blatant atheist lyrics I’ve ever heard from any rappers came from stic.man and M1 of dead prez.

Stic.man said: “I believe man made god, out of ignorance and fear. If god made man, why the hell would he put us here? I thought he supposed to be the “all loving”. The same god that let Hitler put the jews in the oven”. And M1 said: “F**k the bible! Get on your knees and praise my rifle!”. (These are my favorite MC’s, by the way). But again, none of them caught the same s**t that Jay does because they aren’t super moguls.

3.) Because of the sign he makes with his hands—- Jay-Z is one of the main rappers that led to hip-hops obsession with diamonds. At times, it seemed like that’s all he rapped about. In fact, he was the go-to guy for the main song (Girl’s Best Friend) on the soundtrack for the movie “Blue Streak”, where Martin Lawrence played a character chasing a huge diamond. And Jay made the diamond sign (with 4 corners) as a logo for his “Roc Dynasty”, because the word “rock” is slang for “diamond”. That’s why he would simultaneously scream “It’s the Roc!” and throw up the diamond sign. Even Kanye, a member of The Roc, made that song “Diamonds Are Forever” where the hook says “Throw your diamonds in the sky if you feel the vibe…The Roc is still alive every time I rhyme…forever ever, for EVER EVER…”. But of course, conspiracy theorist idiots claimed “he’s throwing up a pyramid, and that’s an illuminati sign!” Ignoring the fact that the face of a pyramid is a triangle with 3 corners , not 4 corners. Of course, those dummies will STILL insist that “no, it’s a pyramid he’s throwing up, he’s just showing a 3-D image, like looking at a pyramid from an angle!!”…SMH..

4.) Because there are hidden messages/double meanings in his lyrics and titles of his albums and songs, and he has displayed some of those symbols in his videos and on his clothes.—- This one is so stupid, it’s laughable!!. These dudes are reaching so hard, they look like those fools who claim to see “the face of Jesus” on pancakes or “the image of the Virgin Mary” in their dog’s turd, or “the face of Satan” in a cloud, like in The National Inquirer!! Give these morons ANYTHING, and they will make a conspiracy out of it!! Jay-Z was asked in an interview about some of the images in his latest videos, “Run This Town” and especially “On To The Next One”, whether he was just trying to create more buzz about the Illuminati rumors, and he said yes, because it keeps the people talking, and almost ALL publicity is good for business. He is obviously keeping himself in the headlines, making his haters keep hating, and making his fans more supportive. If he was really a member of a “secret society” whose top priority is SECRECY, and had a “death penalty” for members that revealed secrets, why in THE WORLD would he make all kinds of public videos, songs, gestures and wear clothing that would attract the attention of THE WHOLE WORLD to this “secret society” that would KILL HIM for exposing them????

Now let’s examine the REAL reasons why Jay-Z has been so successful….

Jay started rapping and honing his skills as a little kid. When he reached his 20′s, he unsuccessfully shopped his demo to several labels, hoping to get a deal. After no luck, he finally decided to start his OWN label, Roc-A-Fella, with co-CEO’s Dame and Biggs. That is something that wasn’t even done by the two biggest rappers at that time, Pac and Big, and that is would helped him become so successful.

In 1996, his debut album “Reasonable Doubt” received somewhat critical acclaim, but wasn’t a big commercial success. Despite not having a huge debut, he made some solid music that established the Roc-A-Fella brand, and “Reasonable Doubt” would later be widely respected as on of the greatest hip-hop classics ever, with amazing lyricism, wordplay, and production, and an unprecedented, in-depth evaluation of crime and street life.

Around that time, between 96 and 97, hip–hop witnessed the murders of 2Pac and Biggie, and the beginning of the “Shiny Suit” era started by Puff Daddy. Those events effected Jay-Z in 3 ways: He lost focus due to the loss of his friend and hip-hop comrade B.I.G., a huge void was left wide open in hip-hop after Pac and BIG’s death, and he mistakenly tried to step into that void with some of Diddy’s “shiny suit” hip-pop gimmick.

His second album, “In My Lifetime..Vol. 1″, was released in 1997 under a new distribution deal with Def Jam, and with Diddy as an executive producer. (The way Jay and his partners negotiated that deal would later make him one of the highest earning rappers/CEO’s in the game, receiving 50% of all proceeds, while Def Jam and it’s parent company split the other half. Most rappers aren’t that business savvy, so they only see pennies for every dollar made). Although “Vol. 1″ had done better commercially than “Reasonable Doubt”, it was somewhat criticized for it’s radio friendly singles, particularly, the sing-songy “Sunshine”, which had an even cheesier video. Jay has said before that he won’t even listen to “Vol. 1″, because those few mistakes stopped it from being considered a classic. However, “Vol. 1″ still proved to be some of Jay’s best work, with the lyrical and gritty tracks “Streets Is Watching”, “Where I’m From(Marcy Son)”, and the deep and introspective “You Must Love Me”. Jay and his partners even parlayed their growing success into an independent film and soundtrack both titled “Streets Is Watching”, which was well received by fans.

By 1998, hip-hop was growing tired of the “shiny suit” era and was ready for a return to hardcore street rap. (A new futuristic sound was also about to gain prominence). This need for change led Jay-Z to return to his street roots, while also experimenting with new sounds. It also gave rise to the hardcore rap label Ruff Ryders, with DMX and The LOX, whom Jay continued to collaborate with as he did before they all got in the game.

With the 1998 release of Jay’s third album, “Hard Knock Life, Vol. 2″, Jay-Z’s career would sky rocket and make him one of the richest and most famous rappers in the game. The single and title track “Hard Knock Life” showed Jay’s experimentation with new sounds, and his return to making street music, with a sample from “Annie” that resonated through ghettoes everywhere. This would prove to be on of his biggest singles ever, which was almost never made, because he just happened to hear that instrumental being played in the distance while back stage at a show. He sought out where the sound was coming from, and the rest is history. His other top single, “Can I Get A..” featuring Ja Rule and Amil, became extremely popular on radio and in clubs, and it obviously translated into huge record sales. That song, along with his other single “Nigga What, Nigga Who” showed his experimentation with a futuristic sound and his old school quick flow, and fans every where loved it.

That album went on to sell 5 million-plus copies, and it allowed Jay to start one of the biggest, most lucrative ALL hip-hop tours ever, “The Hard Knock Life Tour”. Later in his career, (after “The Black Album”), Jay would fall out with partner Dame Dash, but still continued to make lucrative business deals, like becoming President and C.E.O. of Def Jam, his own Reebok sneakers (the fastest selling Reebok’s ever), a signature fragrance, the selling of Roc-A-Wear for $204 million, and a $150 million deal with Roc-Nation.

They got there the same way people have ALWAYS consolidated wealth and power in the hands of a small, exclusive minority, since the beginning of civilization from old Chinese Dynasties, to Ancient Egypt, and to the Greek and Roman Empires, NOT just in medieval Europe, or colonial America: and that is through political maneuvering, manipulation, corruption and NEPOTISM!! It’s not right, but it’s human nature, NOT some supernatural evil force!!

The problem is, when people start to speculate that these powerful people are involved with spooky symbols and rituals (which even if they WERE, it has no REAL power), or that they worship some “devil” or spooky deity that DOESN’T EVEN EXIST, you actually harm any progress for positive change.

Because when you define all of the worlds major problems as having some fake, spooky, supernatural source, consequently, people waste time waiting for fake, supernatural solutions.

And people need to wake up and live in the REAL WORLD, and find realistic, pragmatic solutions instead of blaming everything on some “boogey man” or a fukkin entertainer, when the solution is as simple as raising our children to have common sense and actually strive for knowledge and self-respect.

And as it relates to music, and Jay-Z specifically, the powers that be are NOT interested in “acc**ulating souls” through music. They are interested in acc**ulating MONEY!! It just so happens that “negative” or “carefree” music sells more, and the customers tend to be more consumer-driven, and less informed on real world and political issues.

But please believe, if the people in positions of power could make the SAME profit with more positive music, and still keep their positions of power, they would be MORE than happy to sell it for a profit!!
