shango24 – has lots of venom in those veins, while I disagree with hitting your children, I do not find discipline wrong, if given in moderation. I have a 17 year old son and some times he lets his spoiled mouth get ahead of him. It is hard as a parent to control your anger when your children disrespect but you still must control the urge. I generally explain to him that his life as it stands now is of my making, and if he has an issue with is then it would be wise to prepare himself to leave my care. I am lucky that he is smart enough to recognize when he is not doing what he is supposed to do. In the end of the day, all we can do is hope that our children grow up mentally fast enough to understand when they are making a mistake before they make one that cannot be easily corrected.

First of all, I want to know why the individuals who write these articles never cover the whole story but only half the story? It has been alleged that Teddy Riley took a Rock Band guitar controller and beat his daughter with the controller, so in response to the allegations Teddy Riley decides to write a letter I guess justifying his actions or at least trying to get the public to understand where he is coming from or explain why he may have used a Rock Band guitar controller to beat his daughter. I just hope that Teddy Riley did not resort to using violence to disciple his daughter because there are in fact other ways to discipline besides violence, but again I don’t know if what is being said is the truth. It sounds as if Teddy and his family have a lot of ongoing issues that need attention because if he felt the need to beat his daughter with a controller something is definitely going on in his household that should be addressed and resolved.

Yes, there are many individuals whether African American, European, or even Hispanic who resort to corporal punishment does it make it right in my eyes NO. There are other ways to discipline your child besides resorting to violence or other forms of corporal punishment. Clearwater police spokeswoman Elizabeth Watts said Broadhead had argued with Samantha the day before about cigarettes the girl had taken from her.

In the early morning hours of the next day, police said, Samantha and her boyfriend, Jack Ault, allegedly doused Broadhead’s bed and her bedroom floor with gasoline and ignited the fuel.

Ok-lets clear something up-
First off you know that 9 out of 10 kids don’t want to see their parents with someone else. And we all know that kids have smart mouths and some rich kids go all out if there parents say no to them. Grown a$$ kids-some of them want to be their parents-parents and rule their life and tell them what to do and who to date. And they will try their parents by talking back,get’ing in there face,showing there a$$ infront of there friends or a party they have or fighting them back. Children/kids who DISRESPECT their parents-should get their a$$ beat and for the grown a$$ kids they want to try the parents and step too them-then they need their a$$ beat down. It didn’t matter-that it was their parents who they was disrespecting-when they tried them so why should it matter if the parents beat their a$$ down? That is 1 of the biggest problems now-parents rights has been took away and some kids run their parents over. Now-it could have been that she tried to hit him and he took whatever it was and hit her,with it. It don’t always be the new person in the kids parents life-that are doing wrong and try to come in between the 2-its most of the time the child itself-who don’t want them nor think they are good enough to be in their parents life at all. I agree with those who say Teddy should have beat there a$$ and put them out. Kids in this day and time are trying their parents. If my son tried me,like that-I would be still beating his a$$.
