Worlds collided, in a good way, last night in New York City at Mos Def’s show at Highline Ballroom when Mos was joined on stage by Diddy and Jay Electronica. The Mighty Mos brought Jay on stage to perform his single “Exhibit C” which has had the internet losing its collective minds in the last couple of months.  Before starting the song Jay called out for Diddy, who he namechecks on the record.

Diddy has been a longtime supporter of Jay Electronica, who is known for being the complete antithesis of Diddy. Rumors circulated for awhile that Jay was even going to sign to Bad Boy Records.

i dont know why mos def would call up diddy to perform-diddy has never had no skills and still living in biggies shadow. he may be a good producer and what not but as a performer-he is wack as hell, suge knight was right (one of the few times i agree with him) when he said what he said years ago at the awards show back in ’94/’95 about if a artist want to be a star. as far as any groups signin’ with bad boy-i think diddy ripped biggie off for one thing-basically making him a song and dance rapper and alot of artists careers blew up or at least got better after they left bad boy and actually things aint been the same for bad boy since biggie got assassinated by the same people that assassinated tupac. buffy, i mean puffy has had to fill the void somehow at badboy since ’97.
