If you don’t have The Ecstatic, go get it. It’s nice. I haven’t been that into Mos Def’s music in a while, but thanks to an interview with DJ Symtex on this very site, I heard some bangers. I went to amazon.com and checked out the samples, and I had to buy it. Next thing you know, I’m in Best Buy BUYING (not downloading for free you free loadin’ suckaz) the album for my brother for the holiday, and one for myself. So I bought it TWICE. It was worth it. Support this brother. He’s worth it.

@Bwann26 Mos Def AND Kweli claim a second Black Star album is currently being recorded. Who knows when it will drop. I’m assuming after the new Reflection Eternal album.

@Nanastroker I was JUST telling someone about that “What’s Real Beef” joint from the Chappelle Show. That was the sh*t for real. They flowed so natural, so non-contrived, so real.

Now, I’m about to watch the videos! lol I’ve already got the album so I didn’t have to watch to hear, but the visuals should be dope.

the beat is subpar comparable to rap of today, but thats the beauty of Hip-Hop. It doesnt end on beats alone, but content, imagery, metaphor, word play and message.also, the jazz baseline with letting each sound harmonize with each instrument rather than let the base take over and over shadow the other sounds made the song far more soothing to the soul then you sprinkle it with the raw lyrics of substance soothes the mind. Now that’s music, and that’s HIP-HOP.
