What Did Young Jeezy Change His Name To?

After making a name for himself as Young Jeezy, the rapper born Jay Jenkins is dropping the name, or at least half of it.

Taking a cue from Bow Wow, Young Jeezy will now be known as Jeezy.

Young Jeezy’s new single art reflects the name change, as does Def Jam’s website.

At age 32, it’s about time that Young Jeezy dropped the “young” from his name.

Now if only we can let Lil’ Wayne know that he’s not exactly Lil’ anymore.

    Yeah, I agree. We always called him Jeezy.

    But if you ask me, there are still too many unoriginal rappers names with the following:

    Lil
    Young
    Big
    Mac
    -eezy
    -izzle

    I mean come on!

    Lil’ Wayne is little. He can get older but he’s not growing any taller. I want to know his name isn’t Lil’ Dwayne, though.

    hands down one of my favorite rappers, i refer to my favs as if we been homies for years cuz we kinda r the music they make is th sndtrk 2my life. i call em jay, jeezy, wayne, tip, etc… lol

    Haha glad I wasn’t the only one thinkin this article was pointless. i thought he was changing his name to something completely different, such as a name without Young or Jeezy in it.

    @frustratedmonk, he doesn’t call himself Dwayne because that was his father’s name. in some interview he did, he said he dropped the D for that reason; his father wasn’t really a father to him, and he didn’t want to be associated with him like that.
