No new songs just “That Thing.” I saw her perform in Brookyln 2 years ago and this is pretty much what I saw. She’s performing faster with a lot more energy. Some people like it some people don’t. Hopefully the Fugees will have a re-reunion to support Haiti. The world needs you Lauryn.
@ 43 she got married to one of Bob Marley son, not the Jamaican born ones. One who was born in the US Florida, he use to play college football. He have not been kind to her, messed her up too. Not only one baby after another, but i hear abused her too. He is not an artist either. She got involved with the Bob Marley taboo, because she love reggae music.
He who was a nobody, just Bob son, bust a move on her as a opportunist, then it all came down. U know, when u got trapped in something, its not easy to get out, so it was one kid after another. Not sure if any hard drugs was involved. However, i know 4 sure the Marley boy treated her badly, because i know people who even know his mopm. He is not Rita Marley son.
Correction: I know people in the music business residing in Fl who know his mom. He is just a Marley, just have the name. However, he is Bob son. He is still a nobody, just Bob son. So thats the story. I remember when they came to Jamaica at the mixing lab and did Killing Me Softly with Sly & Robbie,. because i was there. It was not Whyclef who was the brain, and with the musican with the swagg, it was Lauryn.
I was just a teenager visiting the studio with my bro who is in the business and is part owner of the lab, plus worked with Sly & Robbie, thats how i got to be in the studio surroundings when they did their big hit Killing me softly in Jamaica at the Lab.
@ Mssubmissive-, you make alot of general assumptions, based on heresay. Nobody knows what goes on in a relationship between two people, sometimes not even the two people in that relationship. If he indeed treated her bad, and caused her to go off the deep end, it was her decision to stay in that relationship. From what shes said in past interviews, she did what most women now’a days dont do, which is put her children before her career. This concept of giving up fortune and fame, to change diapores is clearly viewed as insane to most though. Yet for me, I commend her and any other person for putting the babies first. The entertainment world, can be wicked and vile, especially if you go into it pure of heart. Thats why alot of geniuses end up going crazy in it.

I love Lauryn. Its funny how she prevented me from dismissing a Brother at one time…lol. She has raw talent and she, like so many Sistas in and outside of the diaspora, has lost herself.
She will come around, we all do. We have to know that knot only do we want an African man, but the right one. If you arent her, and dont live with her, how do you know what happened to her. Lauren’s a genius in her own way, and like most genius’, especially when they have success at a young age. Can go off into their own world. I’m happy that her world includes her raising her kids. Instead of chasing money and fame, and getting blinded and burnt out by it. I’m glad Lauryn Hill is back. I’ve been looking for her to surface for a loooong time. To those of you who are speculating on what happened to her during her absence, no one knows the truth but Lauryn and to be honest, I’m glad she made it through. It doesn’t matter what happened, what matters is that she made it through and I’m really happy for you. We all have our demons to deal with. As long as we stay prayed and true to ourselves we will always come out on top. Lauryn Hill, Whitney Houston, Natalie Cole, Aretha Franklin and Tina Turner as well as a lot of other strong women have proven this time and time again. “What don’t break you will make your stronger” Much love to you Lauryn Hill, glad to see you made it back.
