Personally, I think Jay-Z is a little over-rated. There is no question that he has made it into mainstream. But, lyrically he is not the greatest. Further, the cross-over he is attempting The Roots, Dead Prez, Mos Def, Wu-Tang, Nas, Scarface, EightBall & MJG (albums 1 & 2), Bone Thugs, Run DMC, The Fugees, Kanye, and many underground cats have already implemented. However, the Blueprint 3 appears it will be a nice album with what I have heard thus far, but with the release of Ether, I can’t deem Jay the best rapper alive, but I think he may make the top 10. True Mcs would kill Jay on the mic and that is just real talk.
